Did you get the kit or prebuilt? I've had my eye on that.We got rid of my 6-speed manual Tacoma so that my wife could drive on trips when we tow our little teardrop. It's only about 450 lbs loaded up so it's no problem for our hybrid. What do you all tow with your Mav?
I live in the hills of the Appalachian mountains. I have 80 acres of wooded hills. That's one of my out buildings you see. The fresh dirt work is my neighbors. He sloped the hill so he could mow with his tractor. Thats his log truck and equipment you see up on the hill.
Is that FWD, and did you have any trouble on boat ramps?
Wish it was warm enough to do this more often. Guess I'll have to wait until spring!
Built it myself -- it was my Covid year project. I've done 3 of their kayaks kits, too. Lots of fun (if you like being alone in the garage, sanding, and listening to good music).
Yes, it's a hybrid. Can't say I had any trouble at the ramp, but the ramp at my local lake is not steep.

I just have to put on the deck rigging and I'm ready to take her out this spring (I'm in MI and it's cold now). Now I'm trying to figure out how to transport my kayak on my Maverick. I have the bed racks and I think I'm going to have the roof rails installed....the thought having holes drill on the roof is nerve racking and I don't like the door lip mounts.Finish that beauty! That's a really cool teardrop! Did you build it yourself, or purchase it? Source (for the plans or for the trailer if it's a "built" one). I might just have to get something like that myself!

Let us know what you come up with -- I'm trying to figure that out, too. Hate the idea of the door lip mounts but it's probably a lot easier and less obtrusive than getting a true bed rack.
That is just slick! I watched their video on construction. Is it as straight-forward as it looks on video? It seems like 75% of the work / time might be sanding and finishing.
