I've towed probably a dozen times in the last 6-8 months, preparing for and executing a multi-state move. My last tow was the empty trailer though, and I sold it last night. So if I tow again, it'll be a U-haul or a friend's trailer.

The Maverick performed very well when towing BTW, executing the big climb and descent on I-75 just south of the KY/TN border. Even with a rather large load, it handled it with ease.
I'll add that if I had known last year that I would be moving over 500 miles and towing frequently, I'd probably have kept the F-150 a little longer and put the wear and tear on the 7 year old truck instead of a new truck. Not that it's really all that much of a burden for the Mav, but why not use the big truck for its intended purpose? I'd have certainly pulled bigger trailers with the F-150, though I did use a 6 x 12 enclosed Uhaul on my last trip north (outside of my final drive with my own utility trailer).

I tow a 16’ fiberglass boat. I have the 4K towing, but haven’t needed that capability yet.

Since getting the Maverick in January I've towed my camper trailer on about 6 multi-day camping trips. Trailer is 1850 empty and Maverick handled it very well. I have the Hybrid with 4k towing package.

What brand and model is your camper? My son is looking at a different one to pull behind his Jeep Gladiator. Not happy with current one, a 13 foot Coleman. Yours looks "retro", pretty cool looking! Thanks!

Not sure but why please? 🤔
Easier than folding a tinfoil hat!
🤪

Anyway, I don't tow, or really expect to, but really need to find an excuse to tow just once to use this nifty little assist!

I'd been mulling around wondering if it could a one time flat tow of about 10 miles for a 4,800 1972 Eldorado Convertible that won't be ready to go under it's own power when I move, but given that the Eldorado is front drive with an automatic, it doesn't even matter whether the maverick could do it without stressing itself!

It’s a 1959 Aloha 15’. It’s been rebuilt. It’s perfect for a Maverick and I’m really enjoying it. Thanks!

I bought my Maverick out of state, and flat-towed my Versa home about 1,100 miles. The Versa is about 1k lighter than the Maverick, and the steering was definitely trying to work against me. Not sway, in the normal sense, but delayed sway, as the toad caught up to the direction change.

Wouldn't stop me moving 5k lbs 10 miles down the road, just make me more cautious. But then I'm that weirdo that towed an S-10 with a Prius, so... :D

Could you "dolly tow" the Caddy? Still have the weight to contend with, but may be easier on the Cadillac steering/suspension components. Everybody has their limits, but with 4K package, I would do it. Most of those dolly's are 500-800 lbs, so you have that added weight. Still much lighter than using a trailer though. Stopping distance becomes the biggest deciding factor.

I doubt it--the Eldorado is even a little lower than the regular Cadillacs. 5.8" ground clearance on this model.

Uhaul definitely recommends against the dolly for it. Heck, I think they recommend against it for everything I own!

In this article, Ford's Alan Clarke is quoted : "Less than 25% of Maverick owners have towed a single time in the life of the vehicle."

Presumably the statement is based on telematic data, but I wonder if it reflects MTC members' usage.
I've Towed!

Impressive How did it Tow and what kind of Car is that on the Trailer?
It towed beautifully with no issues pulling the trailer carrying the 2018 Ford Focus. The trip was about 100 miles, and at no point did the Maverick feel unstable or overworked. I was likely right at, or even a bit over, the 4k towing limit during the drive. The 2.0 Turbo engine delivered plenty of power while still giving excellent fuel economy.
