I would have towed the Mav with the white truck! Your reason to tow well above the specs was your risk! Hope you did not damage the Mav

That's clearly not a 12k load. Truck is probably in the 3k range and flat bed trailers are what, 1,000? I'd be more concerned about how that Chevy was lashed down.

I will never understand people who strap down a vehicle over the body. They need their asses kicked! Seen lots of nice cars get destroyed this way.

Mavericks are 3,700# or more and you think that 3/4 ton full size long bed Chevy truck weighs less? That's 5,500# MINIMUM. At least 1,500# for the 10,000 GVW trailer it's riding on. (6 lug trailer axles are rated at 5,200# each) So 7,000# truck Plus Maverick at 3,700+ and driver and it is quickly 11,000 total. If that truck has a diesel or tools in it, it gets to 12,000# very easy.

I was by no means justifying the tow, in fact, the opposite. My 3,000k figure for the truck was merely a guess and a bad one at that.
