I order a black lariat 24 hybrid with bap July 17, 2023.. I'm scheduled to have it delivered finally June 15th 2024.. that almost took 1 year!

My question is for the first hundred miles you guys take it easy or drive it like you normally do ( I don't mean hotrod as it's a hybrid) but what best practices or thoughts you guys have on your driving styles for the first 100 to 500 miles

Can't speak to the hybrid, but I simply drove it as normal. To be fair, I didn't travel anywhere outside of town the first 300 miles and thus never got above 50 during that time.

I drove my ecoboost normally with the exception of waiting to tow anything until I met the factory recommendation for miles.

I just leave mine in Eco mode as I enjoy getting 42-55MPG!
I've only got about 1200 miles on mine, thoroughly enjoying this little trucklette!

Check tire pressures and set a cold levels, (mine were 45 all around instead of 35 (XLT)) and check the oil.

Take a 50-200 mile drive around the area and ensure to load the engine and battery system along with brakes at stops. No need to stomp on it, just drive to get everything warm. Let it sit for an hour and check all around and in the engine bay for any thing odd (leaks, smells, fluids on parts, etc.).

Change the battery in the fobs and check the 12v battery to see if it's 100%, fill washer fluid or check level and look at coolant and brake reservoir levels and you're good to go.

These things can sit at multiple places for days/weeks during their journey from production to delivery. Batteries can die (FOB/12V), things get bumped on and off rail and truck, and quality control is inconsistent at best. Get a good initial drive in to warm everything up and check everything out at your pace.

My ‘24 Maverick Owner’s Manual on page 278:

“BREAKING-IN

Your vehicle requires a break-in period. For the first 1000 mi (1600 km), avoid driving at high speed, heavy braking, aggressive shifting or using your vehicle to tow. During this time, your vehicle may exhibit some unusual driving characteristics. “

The manual doesn’t differentiate between the Eco-Boost or Hybrid models, nor does it specify what “unusual driving characteristics“ are to be expected.
