Wouldn't that be putting the third row people in harms way since that is now the "crumple zone"?

The BS is popular so I hope they keep it around but I could also see Ford doing something like making a Maverick SUV and sunsetting the Bronco Sport.right, so... now I'm really curious what the point of that article is, other than the author spending a bunch of time hacking together stuff in AI and/or photoshop?
explorer's 3rd row is not at all comfortable, but people wanting bigger just go expedition most of the time. I suppose there's a few vw atlas-sized vehicles that are better than the explorer for internal size, but I don't see this as a problem created by the escape leaving the market.
I guess Ford really might be just giving the current bronco sport a run for the next 3 years but they're going to get smoked by the rav4, cr-v, tucson, santa fe, and other compact SUVs that offer hybrids.
Would be slightly behind the 3rd row.Wouldn't that be putting the third row people in harms way since that is now the "crumple zone"?
Van is said to be coming soon, if the tarriffs didn't kill it.or.....maybe a van

It would be great for those doing Uber, Lyft, etc. But unfortunately they are no longer worth doing. MPG is king when doing Rideshare.who the heck needs three rows of seating more than 1-2x a year? And even then, they don't "need" it most of the time. If they are some sort of breeding facility and have more than two kids, they should just get a Transit or Expedition, anyway.
Not at all. They are just showing what could be.Clickbait
Yeah a 3 row Maverick SUV is not in the cards. To your point on the width - the third row of an Explorer is already virtually useless.I had a Flex park next to my Maverick a couple of days ago. As I walked to the truck I realized how similar in size they were. As to this article I could see a 3 row SUV version selling. My fiance has a 2009 Explorer and she would like a new Explorer except for this reason. For some stupid reason the custom builder of the house we bought 2 years ago put 8' wide garage doors in it with a 2 foot wall section between them. Why the plans didn't allow for a 9' door I don't know. We did talk to a structural engineer and he said it could be changed to a single door with enough money. So here is the problem with the new Explorers they are 89.3" wide mirror to mirror. Measuring the track opening of out garage door at 91.5" that doesn't leave much room to squeeze in. My Maverick? It fits great in the garage, backed fully in, shut the door, and had room to open the tailgate and walk around the truck.
Instead of a 3 row Maverick SUV I would prefer they move the back seat back for more legroom and make a 2 row SUV. It would suit our needs well. If we have more than 4 people going somewhere take 2 vehicles.
I had to look that up. What a bland Windstar of a vehicle! But, practicality needs no style. They already make it, they could just start selling them in Merkuh...after a few million $ thrown at DOT for testing and approval. What about the Ford Territory to take over the gone Escape?!
This reminds me of when I first got my Transit (not Connect). It had literally just three options (on the lot, not ordered); Limited Slip Differential, full windows (T250 is a cargo van), and long arm side mirrors. I had about 2-3" clearance on each side going through my gate. I swapped with someone for the normal arm side mirrors. Oddly, my previous T1n Sprinter was narrower, but the interior was wider by almost 6". It also had 9" of ground clearance, but the deck height was a couple inches lower than the Transit (not Connect). Here's a pic comparing the very similar size of my Maverick to the Transit (not Connect):I had a Flex park next to my Maverick a couple of days ago.
