Hello fellow Maverick owner's, this is my first post. My Maverick has started to shake while accelerating if I put it in sport mode or tow/haul mode it's a bit worse going up a slight grade its shakes even at really low speed, say I'm going 50mph and I put my foot into it, the Maverick will shake really bad like if the tires are about to fall off. I just left the dealer with an appointment on the 7th of June for a diagnosis and the air bag recall. I'm desperate and worried they won't be able to fix it. and I've read of other people on this forum are having the same problem, but they don't post after they take it in for repair. ANY help, advise or answers would be great. Thanks, I really appreciate it. I just had it serviced while I made the appointment and the problem was there before and after, so it's not the tires or wheels out of balance.

Are you sure you are not streaming an old Jerry Lee Lewis song "Whole Lot of Shaking Going On" and Maverick reacting LOL. Man, that must be a weird feeling. Hopefully dealer can fix it for you.

Thanks, but no, it only happens on acceleration, and when decelerating the shaking stops completely.
That sounds like CV axle problems (some folks have had issues with them), but it could also be something else like the flywheel damper that some have had problems with.

How many miles are on the truck?

As mentioned above, check your axles. Check around the wheel well and suspension for any "yellow" grease.

Where are you located? Try taking it to a different dealer for an earlier appointment?

It’s definitely your axels. I would contact a dealer and set it up to order the replacement parts

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Maverick concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

You don't mention whether this is a 2WD or 4WD. If its not just wheel hop from too heavy a foot, then you probably have a damaged CV joint, or if it is 4WD, a driveshaft issue. Since a failed CV joint is pretty serious, you probably should not drive it until it is fixed.

2wd HYBRID . I just noticed mine almost doesn't do it when cold, like the short drive from my house to the gas station its fine but after a little heat soak and warming up it starts shuddering. so, it only happens when it's warmed up.

Unless there is a bad batch of axles going around this is going to end up being a design flaw.

No reason a new truck should be chewing through CV axles that fast.

However - on accel worn cv axles can cause a ton of vibration.

How many miles is on your truck heffe?

truck has 20200 Miles and I totally agree, if it's the transmission damper or cv axles, it's not a good thing, I have the extended warranty but that will last for only one more set of axles and or one more transmission damper, after the warranty is up, I'm screwed if I don't do the cv axles myself and there is no way I'm going to pull the engine to change a trans damper. neither of these issues should routine maintenance. I don't have much faith in this truck anymore and I bought it for lower mpg and obviously a new vehicle shouldn't be falling apart. I Love the truck and it fits me perfectly except these maverick hybrids might be garbage to use as a daily little pickup. I have a shell and carry tools, both weights combined should be around 600lb, that's no different than having 2 or 3 passengers. thanks, and sorry for the rant. I'm just extremely disappointed. I spent our down payment for a house on this truck so I could still afford to go to work because of gas prices. I gambled and I'm losing to a billion-dollar corporation. I put everything I had into it, and they won't give me a loaner that has a trailer hitch of a truck for work. there's no way I can work out of a rental car. I doubt it's the cv axles because it drives fine the first 5 minutes and when it's warmed up from driving it gets worse and worse and the problem was really noticeable on the hottest day last week, this is new info as I realized when I took it out early morning yesterday.

Took mine to the dealer last week on 5/25. They called yesterday and said the clutch damper is the issue. Mine was doing the same thing - shaking like a washing machine upon acceleration. They said they ordered the part and would have it fixed in a few days. We will see...

Thank you for chiming in. if you can keep me updated that would be much appreciated. I just dropped mine off at the dealer today. I told them it wobbles a little when driving slowly and with no load on the engine, and at 50% Power and around 45-60 mpg they will defiantly feel it as they accelerate and I also quoted you by saying shacks like a washing machine, because that is exactly what it feels like. Hopefully all that shaking didn't damage or put extra wear on the transmission or anything else.
