When I started this one I expected maybe 15-20 owners to respond. I’ve been trying to make sure I read all responses.
I'm trying to keep up but had to stop for a nap

I’m 75 and got our 2023 alto blue Lariat FX4 after 431 days. My lovely bride claimed it as hers and drives it daily. I get to drive once in a while so I make do with our 2021 Bronco Sport Outerbanks. About 5500 fantastic miles and loving every minute!

I'm 73. I finally called my dealer and said, "I'd really like to have this SOB before my funeral, ya know"? It's finally built and shipped, but I still haven't seen it. I have a "stash" of accessories in a pil in my shop! Lol......My "other car" is a 552 hp, 1965 Shelby Cobra by Superformance. Great car, but it's hell to get in/out of. I think I'm a 35yo in an old body....I'm excited about my Mav.
Yes to all the questions. I actually got to go attend a live Howdy-Doody show as a kid!
XLT, Area 51, CP 360, ordered dealer installed leather interior. ordered 9/22.

Yea... we know. Cuz every week there is a new thread about it.

If you guys would start a poll it might prove the majority are over 50 years old. But... instead we get 15 threads on it lol.

Don't take it personal, I'm just joking and I hope you are enjoying your Maverick and MTC. Anyone who actually cares about "reposts" is in for a shock here.

How does the song go? "Livin' in the new world, With an old soul..."
I drive like I'm 60 and live in rural Montana. So the Maverick suites me just fine coming from a long line of overkill lifted trucks. I'm in no rush. Go around. And I don't need 4 feet of ground clearance anymore to show how cool I can handle those service roads to my fishing spots or when I'm mall crawling on a daily basis. ;)
like your points. i have been told since my 30's that i drove like a 'old' man. i didnt care then and now that i actually am whats considered old i care even less :)

I'm 63, and have had all three trim levels of the hybrid Maverick since Jan 2021. I ordered my first one on 15 Oct 2021 as an XLT, hybrid, lux, and CP. I was told it would be produced and delivered within 8-12 weeks. I set a deadline of 15 Jan 22, and when that date came and left, I decided to search car dealers as far away as I was willing to travel. I found an XL with CP and the SIBL , in Gastonia, NC. I flew up, picked it up, and drove 546 miles back home. On 31 March, the dealer I ordered from called me and told me a gentleman refused to take delivery of a hybrid XLT with Lux, but no CP, so I traded in the XL for the XLT. In October '22, I found out I needed surgery on my lumbar and cervical spine, so I was going to have very limited range of motion. I needed the CP. So, I started a search again, and found a hybrid Lariat with all the bells and whistles, so I traded in the XLT. That is the end of looking for another Maverick for me. I love this truck, and so do a lot of others who stopped me in the parking lot to talk about my Maverick, which most are senior citizens.

For me, I love my little truck!! I love that it's lower to the ground, so I can put things in the bed, or take them out really easily w/o having to climb in the bed. The length of the bed is long enough for me. I build raised bed garden planter boxes. I make trips to Home Depot and Lowe's frequently to buy lumber. With the tailgate down, it's not uncommon for me to haul lumber 10'-12' long. I just strap it down and haul it home. When I'm done building the boxes, which are as long as 6', then I deliver them.

I love the smoothness of driving the Maverick, as the hybrid doesn't have any shift points. It's just a smooth acceleration to the speed you want to go. Also love the interior space of the cabin as well. I think when Ford did a demographics study, they were aiming this truck toward a young generation. What they miscalculated are people our age.

64 years young. Have had my ‘22 hybrid for 15 months with no issues other than a couple of recalls. My last Ford F150 lasted 20 years and 250,000 miles. If as reliable as the F150 was for me the Maverick might be my last truck?!

If you grunt more than twice when you bend over to tie your shoes, you’re old enough. I started to post a check list but decided it was too much work.

1. do you know who Howdy Doody is.
2 did you watch Hee Haw at least twice.
3. Have you contemplated buying a bottle of Geritol.

everyone feel free to add to the check list.

I’m 65 and picked up my Maverick AWD Lariat eco boost in June of this year. I have a whopping 2,200 miles so far. Average around town is 24 mpg and 38mpg on the highway. Most of my driving is in town.

Just got my notice that my Hybrid I forgot about is being built in the third week of December. Trying to figure out what to do now. Don’t know if I should try to trade the eco or sell it. If it doesn’t make sense money wise I might just keep it.

The reason I have the eco boost is that I changed one of my hybrid orders because my old truck was 27 years old and wasn’t as dependable anymore.
If it's being built in December, it will be a 2024. See if the upcost for a hybrid with other things missing is worth going for. Now you have an AWD which you won't have on the hybrid. Unless you do lots of driving (over 12K a year) the savings will take years to make it worth while.

I'm 68 and my truck just got scheduled for the week of 12/18/23. I'm planning to retire in no more than a year and a half and bought the Maverick as my retirement vehicle. I plan to use it to tow a smallish travel trailer (around 3k pounds) to go cross country and use it for miscellaneous projects in addition to normal duties.

I’m 71. My Maverick is a 22 Lariat AWD lux package, copilot 360, Cactus Gray. Currently 24K miles.
I'm 71 and have a 2022 XL Hybrid. Bare bones, with only the trailer hitch as a factory option. Have added the Ford drop-in bed liner, a TruxSport soft bed cover and the front bed floor tie-downs from Ford Parts as accessories. It's now perfect.

Just took a 6000 mile out West trip in it to six National Parks, plus drove to the top of Pike's Peak. Never missed not having cruise control. Total mileage driven is 32, 220 miles. Delivered on 6/17/2022, after a one year and two day wait.

Just took it in for it's 30K mile service and also got TSB 23-2248 firmware update (the latest one for the engine shudder). Have already had the grabby brake TSB firmware upgrade done. Had the other recalls done, except for the second possible engine fire issue (still waiting for fix on that one). It's now extremely smooth and quiet. As good as it was before, it's now perfect. You'd never know it was a hybrid with this latest firmware.

The truck performed well on the recent trip. Rode smooth and quiet, averaged 40MPG at all different speeds, terrain, and conditions, from 31 degrees F and snow at Yellowstone, to 100 degrees F going across Kansas on the way back home to Ohio. Engine temp stayed solidly smack in the middle of the temperature gauge.

After having that latest TSB done, the truck is perfectly smooth and quiet - smooth as any vehicle I've ever owned and I've owned 38 over the years. I really like the interior of the XL best, neat but not gaudy, and very durable. It can tow any of my three boats (800, 1500, and 1900 pounds, the last a small pontoon) and never skips a beat. It has used virtually no oil and still does not rattle.

It's easy to get in and out of (much easier than my 1973 Mustang convertible), has room for another couple in the rear seat to go to dinner, and by far, is the best vehicle I've ever owned. Out the door, plus the accessories, it was right at $25K with tax, doc fee, and accessories , including the mandatory dealer $1500 paint and fabric protection I had to buy. At least I got the $500 Farm Bureau rebate to help offset that.

For $25K truck that gets 40MPG, It think it was the deal of a lifetime. I'm driving it until I have to hang up the key or I'm six feet under.

I think it's the perfect old guy truck!
