Awesome news. I already have an order in, so I would just need to contact my dealer to have them add the Keypad as an option? The community has spoken and Ford has listened. Keypad is now a Dealer Installed Option, cost is $230 and can be added to the order now.
Wireless keypad will work any time your fob works. Not sure if the RF tx or the wired keypad gets disabled as the BMS escalates to shutting off more systems as the battery drains. If it is the stick on why bother having dealer do it?. My fear as I have a hybrid coming is what if you have the thing many have had were it goes into deep sleep mode. Will the keypad work when in deep sleep mode? If it wont and your manual key is inside truck your screwed even if you carry a jump box like I do. (I don't yet have my hybrid so asking)
You’d hope so but the fact that’s it’s supposed to be dealer installed seems like it’s not.I have a feeling this is the wired one that came on previous models. Wont know until OP responds.
I don't think so because Tim stated it's a dealer installed option. You’d hope so but the fact that’s it’s supposed to be dealer installed seems like it’s not.
Out of thousands of Hybrid trucks sold, not "that many" had the deep sleep issues. And it tells you on the app it's an issue...If it is the stick on why bother having dealer do it?. What are you talking about?are other dealers taking orders on their future trucks?
Yes but now they're selling it at more than 2x the cost.........for the people, of course.you'd think Ford would learn. this isn't the first time they've deleted the key pad only to back track due to push back.
I'd put it hidden like in the bed or something then. Makes it less of a theft magnet.it's a stick-on, so you can oriented any way you want and where you want it, not necessarily has to be on the door.
I understand your feelings but it's cost has always been figured into whatever package it was attached to, it was never free. At this point, despite all the theorys whether or not it's the same as the battery or vehicle powered it's too early to determine the actual type no matter how sure one might be.Yes but now they're selling it at more than 2x the cost.........for the people, of course.
