now can you convince ford to bring back the manual rear window slider. Won't buy one without it and not paying for the lariat extras. Yes one could scrounge up a $600 replacement for a $150 option, but will probably damage the paint. btw have you noticed how paint names effect decisions? cyber orange=school bus yellow, cactus grey=Navajo white!

I understand your feelings but it's cost has always been figured into whatever package it was attached to, it was never free. At this point, despite all the theorys whether or not it's the same as the battery or vehicle powered it's too early to determine the actual type no matter how sure one might be.

I think the stand alone pad was $110 for MY23.

Now a stand alone pad is $230.

Dealer installed - peel n stick - (which I agree is very likely) means not only doing the peel n stick but also the PROGRAMMING for you.

Some people (think grandma) don't want to mess with installs. They want it ready to go.

I think the bottom line here is this is just going to be the same keypad that's in the Ford parts bin for most of the other models. It's a stick-on with a battery because realistically would anything else be a dealer installed option. I had one added by the dealer to my '21 Bronco Badlands, it was black for $110. My '23 Bronco Wildtrak came with it from the factory and it was painted. I'm sure the dealer will paint it for you for extra $$ but other than that it's matte black. Works the same as the factory one but has a battery you will need to replace after X amount of years.

The only thing I was questioning was the price, why is it double the price?

I have one on my Ecosport, battery is not replaceable.

Not "user-serviceable" != not replaceable. Just because it's not designed to be easily opened doesn't mean it can't be.

I had the same thought.
At $100 every 5+ years, I'd just buy another. At $230 I'd consider prying it open. Provided all the buttons were still good.

Out of thousands of Hybrid trucks sold, not "that many" had the deep sleep issues. And it tells you on the app it's an issue...

True but I do wonder if it goes into deep sleep mode if the keypad works or not. I have now a Ecosport which I just touch door handle it unlocks. That still worked when my car went into deep sleep mode when I was away a month. BUT no function on fordpass worked. . So would the keypad work and unlock doors. I guess yes.

In the "other" thread it's been stated you and I cannot program the keypad ourselves. At least not without special software and connection tools.

Hence the "dealer installed" item.

It sure would be nice if @kingranchero would authoritatively state the number key panel is the same as prior years.

Anecdotal thoughts and educated sleuthing is nice, but nonetheless, lacks definiteness.

Living in TX, having a pup who likes to go places this is an often used feature of my 22 Lariat. AC keeps bumping while I am in Home Depot for 10 minutes.

I am surprised more MFG's haven't started installing something similar.

When do you think it will be available on an app? Ford Pass?

Left key in the XL a few days ago in hot Texas sun while stopping at a plant nursery with lovely first wife.
Found the open/lock option on Fordpass app and still married to lovely first wife so far.

Is there a way to lock the keys in the the truck and use the keypad when you the proximity unlock on the door handles?

I have the factory installed vertical keypad.
