Yeah this is totally bogus, who do you think will get the remote fob? Me or the wifey.
It won’t be long before Ford gives us four wheels a seat in the motor, maybe. I never thought Ford would get so chintzy.
Maybe the next Ford option will be: Pay us $500.00 and then 'you' can have the opportunity too fly to Mexico and build your own Maverick. (You still need to pay the airfare) Take a gas can with you...

You could always use the KEY provided to unlock the door! Just like the cavemen did in the 80's.

Ask my dear departed Grandmother was fond of saying......."Fair is where you go for corndogs and ferris wheels. This is reality."
Smart woman. Good perspective to have when you've been done wrong, but that still doesn't make the thing right.

Anyone who says it's the proximity sensor and push button, that makes no sense stop spewing the BS. First that Lariat not XL and XLT. Second the proximity sensor is also what starts the car. So the second key won't start the car. If it'll start the car it'll unlock the doors.

I think this is a rumor being spread by a wannabe news site.

I won't be happy either if this turns out to be true. In any case I will want a 2nd fob and hopefully some 3rd party site will have some options.

No, check the link in the first post.
You mean the blog with unnamed sources? I'll take the official memo, thanks.

Yeah, Ford Authority is worthless. They grab threads from forums , puff them up into wannabe articles, and call them news. When they are source just look for the forum post associated and there's your source.

Like the removal of the HVAC temperature LCD screen looks like there's another mid-production change coming to reduce chip usage. One of the included key fobs for XL and XLT Mavericks won't have keyless entry function. No mention if there will be any sort of discount for this feature cut.

I don't care. I just want my Damn Truck. I am an old Man Ford. I would love to see my 2023 by the time I am Six Feet under. Hope it arrives in time for my Funeral they can haul me in the Flex bed to the Cemetery.

I don't know why everyone is so upset about door locks. Sure, it sucks now, but the next constraint is doors, so it won't make much difference.

This is total BS! I am definitely not happy, after waiting all this time, and still my truck is not production. I would hope and expect Ford offers a decent credit if they move forward with this plan.

Still, all in all, I still think it's a pretty big blessing to remain at MY22 build. On the whole, giving up on fully functional key fob in exchange for keeping the bed liner, cargo rails and other XLT Luxury Package items, as well as the ability to use the locked in 1.9% financing for 60 months, is still far better than waiting and further uncertainty on a MY23.

I mean, who is to say what further cuts could come in the future? I try not to imagine the chaos that may be ensuring at the Hermosillo plant. I'd like to stick my head in the sand and believe every truck rolling off the line is a perfect masterpiece...
I would cancel and order a Cybertruck if I were you.

Why "ford wtf" in response to some nonsensical unsubstantiated rumors?

Don't you have better things to be worked up over? 🙃
