They're tac. They really don't fit hybrids had to modify the bolts on the center passenger

I added running boards to my 2004 Colorado because (1) It had a spot-welded fin along the bottom of the cab that needed covering up (2) There was an air dam on the front that hung down lower than the bottom of the cab (3) There was a cross-beam bolted under the chassis that showed under the truck. Never did I think I needed running boards to get in and out, but my wife feels otherwise. That is proven by the amount of sand I have to sweep off her side after going to the beach.

It seems to be the consensus that running boards or nerf bars are not needed on the base Maverick. They are unnecessary to get in and out or to improve the appearance, and I agree. I wonder if Tremor owner's with the larger wheels feel differently? If they are useful, do they affect ground clearance? The Colorado running boards didn't affect the clearance because it was already limited by the cross-beam.

If anyone likes them or wants them, by all means do it. Doesn't matter on opinions of others. But since you asked, for "me" I'd say useless item and not very appealing to me, I'd spend my $ on something else.

Personally I like them, but I am a bit lower to the ground. That said there is another plus if you keep your truck for longer. mud flaps are great but boards do a better job keeping crap from slinging up on the side causing chips.
also some time ago while on highway some car lost a wheel cover & it hit my board but not my door saving me body damage

I just picked up the iconic 3 inch nerf bars from real truck. Question - how much ground clearance do you lose when you install these? I already removed the front wind deflectors to give me maximum clearance with my fx4 eco boost, if you can let me know, it would be greatly appreciated. Thx- John

I wonder about what people think about running boards on the Maverick. From what I've seen, people have mostly negative opinions on adding running boards on Mavericks. I wanted to see opinions on them from more people. So what are your opinions on adding running boards on Mavericks?
I'm "86" with no problem and the wife is "4'-9"

I think I'd find them more awkward to use than not.
Agreed. I once had running boards on a lower vehicle like the Maverick and always had to step over them and be mindful not to get my pants leg wet or dirty entering or exiting the vehicle.

It eventually affected the seat bolster (wear) over time the way I had to enter/exit the vehicle. It was less awkward to bust step out without having to step over something.

I do think they work great on vehicles that need them.

As someone who continues to procrastinate on undergoing bilateral hip replacement, I would welcome a set of nerf bars that I could apply to my ‘24 hybrid. I ordered RealTruck’s Ionic 3” for my first ‘22, but was defeated by the vehicle’s battery‘s location on the passenger side and had to return them. My question is whether another hybrid owner has successfully mounted a set of nerf bars without having to modify the manufacturer’s mounting system? If so, brand and purchase source.
