Very likely ASAP maybe 23 1/2 or 24. But when additional battery production is available.very likely for 2023?!
Yeah but they build more than one powerplant for almost everything they make and will continue to do so for a long time. A ranchero could have had multiple 6 cyl and multiple v8s depending on years. At some point the maverick is likely to have 4 options. Umless you dont want a maverick that should cover the "we". No need to poke a obvious political jab, us old car guys lost 3 decades ago. I think of it this way. Oil is finite, electricity is not, the more EVs there are, the more decades nitro methane tractor pulls rigs will exist. I know they run on synthetic fuels but they still need petroleum based something or other to run. But you get the point. It's not obvious? When someone purports to speak for a group "we all" then counterpoints will surely follow disavowing membership in that group. Only about 25% of Americans would even consider an EV and it's not like we ALL are pining for a Maverick version. YMMV
It's not about losing. Both can coexist. EV's and PHEV's are really pretty great, with a big exception for range and charge time shortfalls on EV's. But not having to go to the gas station for weeks or more while you're at home and just driving around the city? It's so fantastic. I'm going to miss that big time once my Maverick gets here. (I daily drive an EV, own a modded old E36, and need a small truck so now I'm getting a Maverick. Friends have 3/4ton's for when I rarely need more.)Yeah but they build more than one powerplant for almost everything they make and will continue to do so for a long time. Personally i think the smartest way to make evs mainstream is to equip them with a backup generator. Or split the power type delivery between axles. FWD gas/RWD Ev. Done. Now WE can all rejoice.
By losing, I meant losing the intoxicating feeling of having a vehicle that shakes the ground beneath it, and with a terrible roar takes off as fast as you dare to(whether its the fastest or not). Not even the hellcats compare to what used to be.It's not about losing. Both can coexist. EV's and PHEV's are really pretty great, with a big exception for range and charge time shortfalls on EV's. EVs have instant torque, and in some cases massive instant torque. Sound, fury and rumble are all great, but nothing replaces that feeling of getting slammed back into the seat and held there... I love ICE vehicles.... I have been both lucky and privileged in my life to own and drive many exceptional cars... To this day I still own both a Corvette and Jaguar that are under 3 seconds 0 to 60. But once I got to spend some with a model S then had a ride a Tesla model S Plaid, I knew without a doubt ICE was going the way of the stagecoach.By losing, I meant losing the intoxicating feeling of having a vehicle that shakes the ground beneath it, and with a terrible roar takes off as fast as you dare to(whether its the fastest or not). So now you are kicking a dead horse. I said that old car guys lost 3 decades ago. We all EVs are faster. That would be a big DUH. However Tesla can and will screw off. Evil company run by a wanna be supervillian who thinks he's a hero.EVs have instant torque, and in some cases massive instant torque. Might as well ask for winning lotto numbers too. I know Ford engineers have said a PHEV is in the works but with the success the Mav is having the way it is I can't imagine Ford is making it a priority especially with so much market uncertainty.Any one with some real info have any idea what model year the plug in Hybrid will be offered?
2024 model year or 2025?
Reason being that I love the Hybrid so much that a plug in would be mind blowing option. And if it had AWD then even more fantastic.
Wondering if offload my Hybrid now as its value is still high and jump on the ordering the plug in when it's available. Just rubbing my two pees together of how long I would be paying more for gas if I made this call now vs waiting.

Dream on, but know that if you sell a Maverick Hybrid now, you may be waiting a while for the opportunity to buy another Maverick Hybrid, let alone a PHEV.a boy can dream can't he
