I am getting a light plastic on plastic buzz when the road gets bumpy. I have tracked it down to the overhead console. When I put pressure on the console either by pushing it into the headliner or pulling it down at the sunglass holder it quiets or goes away completely. I would like to remove or at least pull down the console and see what the issue is and try to correct it. Does anyone know how to do this. thanks

I had same issue shortly after taking delivery. Took it to dealer and they tracked it to the overhead console. Ordered the part, replaced, buzz gone.

The Illustration seems clear enough. I tried releasing the clips, but Ford must have a special tool because it was impossible for me to leverage enough to free up the console Without damaging it. The last thing I want to do is to snap the plastic trim so I guess I have to live with this irritating plastic on plastic noise. It only occurs on poor pavement so it’s not like it’s a constant problem. I may have the dealer look at it when I bring the truck in for service.

Maybe the dealer can replace it, if they can replicate the sound like they did with "Olderthanyourdirt"👍

😯 Hopefully you will have better luck than "MaverickSVT"

This is how I have taken mine off:
  1. Open up the sunglasses holder
  2. Then put fingers inside, with thumbs on headliner
  3. pull hard, so it swings down
  4. then slide away from windshield
I have done this a few times.

Hi Bill - last fall I posted a question about a noise coming from my overhead console and you said you had a similar noise, brought it to the dealer and they replaced the console and the noise was gone. I have been trying to get my local dealer to address the problem, but they said Ford would not authorize the replacement because nothing was broken. I tried attaching a video I took in which the noise from the console is clearly audible but the file is too large. If you can share your email or cell number I should be able to send it you you. If so, can you tell me if this is the same noise you had? If so, can you also tell me what dealer you had do the repair? Thanks, Bob Faunce.

If you happen to have a Mac and can open the file in Quicktime Player you should be able to export it as a audio only file which will be much smaller which may allow you to post it here.

I only have an iPad and I can’t reduce the file size to less than 8.1 MB, which is apparently too large For the website although I have been able to text it to the dealership. This whole issue has been driving me a little batty. I’ve been to the dealer three times and they said that Ford is refusing to replace the overhead council because it is not broken only noisy. The dealership shared the video with Ford but I have not heard back yet. I will pester them again this week. It’s really disheartening to have this response from Ford as I love the truck and only have had this one complaint over the first 9000 miles.Thank you for following up on this.

It's not terribly difficult to remove but it does take some time and patience. You should definitely pick up some trim removal tools if you don't already have some because that makes it a lot easier. There are some good videos on Youtube that show to remove it.
