Glad your OK, and the kid driving is not dead. Your truck may have given him a sane future. Rural high speed truck vs car collisions are often "no transport" triage situations, unfortunately.

Can you keep your Tremor rims. If you get a new Tremor, you can use the rim for the spare. Then sell the rest of the rims.

Glad you are OK, sorry for your truck. No wonder they put that claw thing under the bed that prevents the spare tire from flying into the gas tank. I wonder if the full size spare is too much weight for the mechanism or at least in a crash.
Good point, MavTime. There are nuts that are supposed to be re-torqued after driving awhile (lug nuts, alignment nuts, etc). In that vein, I wonder if we should periodically get out that tool and tighten up the spare wheel mechanism. Just a thought.

Speaking of alignment, I just got my front end aligned after putting on the new wheels (just turned 4,000 miles on odometer). I went to NTB, as I have been using them for 60 years, back when they were NTW. They used to have alignmens, up to 5 years, at a price, of course. It was the same alignment, so you paid dependent upon how lucky you felt. Forget the past! They now have ONE alignment. It is only $109, but it is good for THREE MONTHS or 3,000 miles. Three months? Either they are not happy with Maryland's roads or not too sure of their alignment!

P.S. My ride is a lot smoother since I installed the leather steering wheel cover.

I lost my XL hybrid after driving it for a year to a 21 year old who simply wasn't paying attention. A healthy insurance payout bought me a loaded Lariat though, and I'm a very happy man now. Fortunately no serious injuries, 3 months of lower back pain from a strained lumbar has finally melted away. Very thankful - very safe truck.

I believe the manual does say to tighten the spare tire ratchet about every six months.

Really sorry to see that. So many careless drivers, plus distracted by cell phones, drugs, booze & music. If I didn't drive very defensively, I'd have an accident a week.

If you give insurance half a truck, they will give you half a check.
