I can't believe that no one asked about the Police Trucklette in the background! That looks like one of those Mexican Ram D50 we have been hearing about.

Or maybe it is a full sized Ram that is further away than I think.

Ford Maverick RIP Bender, but it saved my life 1697718324996

I am glad you were not hurt. I hope you can find a nice replacement for Bender.

The little asshole needs to lose his license until he's 21!
Permanently As far as I am concerned. I was hit by a drunk driver. Wound up in traction for 6 weeks broke 39 bones lost part of my large intestine and part of my spleen. I now walk with a limp for the rest of my life due to my left leg being 3 inches shorter then my right. I have no sympathy for drunk assholes.

This is my first time seeing a Tremor in an accident on here. That's a damn shame. And of course, it's one of those cases that wasn't the Maverick owner's fault. Someone posted about that not too long ago on here. I believe it was titled, "Are Maverick's cursed?" in which it discussed many Mavericks getting into accidents that weren't the owners fault. This is what I worry about every day. Because it's not like the Maverick is an easy replacement. You can't just go to your dealer and pick another one off the lot and if there is one, it's going to be marked up. Granted, your life is more important than a vehicle. It's just when it's time to replace it in a situation like this, it's not going to be easy.
We often think our bright velocity blue hybrid with a bright blue topper is invisible. Mine was hit in a parking lot, 3 rows behind the nearest car and she stated she didnt see it when she backed into it :(

Sometimes I'm amazed at how lucky I was at 17 when I was hit head-on by a wrong-way drunk driver on I-84 in CT. I walked away under my own power, needing only stitches in my head after it put the mirror through the windshield. My knees were never quite the same, so it also ended my high school track and field career, but I never lost any regular physical movement.

Your story, and the story of one of my former coworkers (hit head-on on I-95 by a wrong way drunk, needed multiple transfusions and a lengthy extrication from her car) shows just how lucky I was.

The guy who hit me was uninsured and couldn't have cared less about the damage he caused ("what do you care, kid? It was just a car."). With far less reason than you, I loath drunk drivers.

Glad you are okay. Sorry about your Maverick. Hopefully patience pays off for you once more with a new one.

My brother was just in a coma for a week after being hit by a drunk driver. Other driver died and was also underage.

I did some dumb shit when I was young - but driving drunk was NEVER one of them. Ever.

Good to hear that you are OK and the Tremor is replacable. Hope the insurance company treats you fairly.
I had a similar experiance last year - I bought about the last new Mazda CX-3 available, my 'perfect' car, only to have it totaled by a wrong way driver with 3K miles on it. T-boned on the driver's side, the curtain and seat airbags deployed and I walked away without a scratch or bruise, just the print of the curtain bag on the side of my head.
Insurance payed out the 'market value' that was more than I paid for the car.
I wasn't planning for the Maverick to be my daily driver and I just found a nice, low milage CX-3, unfortunatly it's AWD that I don't need, I knew it would get worse gas milage but didn't realise it has a smaller gas tank, I guess to make room for the read diff. So it has reduced range.

Sorry to see that. I had the exact same accident happen to me in one of my press cars last year (a Subaru) and the hit looks like the same spot at the rear wheel area. I never even saw it coming. Just bang and I'm in a spin toward a light pole.

It sucks. It really ruins your trust of those intersections. For a few months after I was paranoid. Still today I take that extra moment to look both ways before I roll through an intersection because these people literally come out of nowhere :(.

So sorry for your accident but it’s great that you’re OK and somebody’s gonna get a great maverick with a salvage title. Some nitwit will bend that thing apart, and make it right or not.

In trucking school we were told to check our mirrors 3 times and both ways 3 times through each intersection. With that kind of training at least you would have seen the hit coming, hard to avoid it, but atleast you know what hit ya.
