More pictures coming from every angle but just wanted to comment on how solid feeling it is. Has anyone else noticed this?

It just rides 'better' to summarize.

I sold a 22 FX4 to CarMax and had this the same day.

Yes. I would not call it a better ride. I would call it more planted. It feels more truck like. And it's GREAT in snow btw.

It is technically stiff, but on the shock side of things. The soft springs allow it to react quicky but the high pressure shock make the reactions planted and precise. Back in the day the money wasnt there to make the shocks better so they just added more cheap ones, it kinda worked but just made things heavier and it just couldnt react as fast as moder soft spring/strong-stiff shock setups.
I think this setup is very similar to the "HOSS" on the Badlands. Interesting that the Badlands spring rate is lower than the Escape. I've noticed that a few MTC members have swapped into Escape springs.

Motor Trend on the Badlands
"Hardware Tuning: Bronco Sports get unique suspension bushings, springs, anti-roll bars, and special 46-mm diameter monotube rear shocks with increased oil capacity that makes them much better able to dissipate heat when running fast over rough terrain. The base damping rates are up roughly 40 percent relative to the base Escape, with the Badlands and First Edition slightly stiffer still, delivering 70 percent more damping in front and 95 percent more in the rear than an equivalent 2.0-liter AWD Escape. This helps keep the vehicle from bottoming out over heavy terrain. The springs and anti-roll bars are then softened relative to the Escape, with both measuring 15 percent lighter on the Bronco Sport 2.0-liter relative to an equivalent Escape—all in the name of improved articulation. One final minor tuning alteration is the upper strut mount in front, the compliance of which increases at each of those steps to improve both articulation and isolation."

OP, the Cargurus test video agrees with your ride assessment, in fact says that in some cases the on road handling is better than the other Mavericks.

For the techies a suspension deep dive into the dirty side of the Badlands HOSS

I would think Bilstein definitely has something in the works.......they make great suspension products and usually cover a really wide variety of makes and models compared to Fox. Bilstein is a great compromise of price and performance while also offering adjustability.
I'd say you can't go wrong with either one but when Fox decides to go in on a platform they usually produce a better product. Hopeful we might see something from Fox (because of the Ranger Tremor) but the F150 has in-house Tremor shocks like the Mav and I believe the Super Duty does as well.

So, not holding my breath for Fox.

I agree Fox is superior but you pay the price for that compared to Bilstein. I wouldn't count on Fox adopting the Maverick platform for products but it seems like you're aware.

I think as time goes on we will all be pretty happy with what Ford has put in there. Its a stiff shock with a hydraulic internal bumpstop. That will do alot for the Maverick. If you put Fox's on it and try to go 70 in the desert it will probably make the dash rattle crowds heads explode. But get a lil more travel with a taller spring, and add a slim spacer on top for a combo lift. Maybe the improved CV axles will allow another 2.5" of lift over Tremor height (1.5" spring/1" spacer). Then maybe with fender trimming 32s will clear at full articulation. That will give enough sidewall to also absorb alot of impact. Especially if someone can get 16" wheels to clear somehow. That will probably max out what the chassis is really capable of. Light mudding, moderate desert romping, light rock duty, snow beast, basic snotty trail duty but wary of the deepest ruts, and killer in the sand. Its not gonna rock crawl out west or dive into swamps down south, it may go 40 or 50mph in the desert but not 70 or 90mph. The first person to jump one of these things will probably break the internets (and their ass)with their video.
