Winter fuel blends are known to deliver a few MPG less on their own as well.Probably differences in trip times. Longer warmed up drives.
Ive had this truck 4 months. I don't drive a lot and I currently have about 2k miles on the odometer.
AWD, 4k tow running 245 65 17s and 1 inch front level lift. K&N drop in filter, no other mods. 89 octane gas used every time. Standard drive mode. I use it for personal transport and dont haul any heavy loads. Tire PSI set to 35.
I live in NW Indiana and do mixed driving of hwy and streets. I drive normally and I'm not a leadfoot. I don't use remote start or sit in traffic. I am getting absolute horseshit mileage. I have not seen 20mpg. I understand the figure may be off a tad with the slightly different tire size but other people with the same truck and mods are claiming 30mpg. WTF gives already? I bought a small truck to save on gas mileage. My V6 equinox was a gas pig and got better mileage. Its one of the reasons I dumped it. With the the gas $ now going through the moon its starting to bother me. I have the money but I didn't buy a "baby truck" to piss money away on gas. I bought this truck to get a few more mpg than the equinox and I was expecting to get at least 22mpg. I understand going up a size in tires may kill 1-2 mpg but come on now. Enough with this BS already. Im tired of the.excuses. Im seeing 17-18mpg tops. Less than 280 miles per tank. I am always putting gas in this truck. I've reset all settings twice to start from scratch to see if that helped and it has not.
Anybody have any ideas what could be going on? I cant be getting 10-12 less than other members with the same truck. Winter gas blend, altitude, driving style/ BS already. 10-11 mpg less than others is NOT normal. Something is wrong here and I'm getting pissed. The biggest reason people buy small trucks to save on gas.

My son got this driving to work and back at 65 mph just to see how good his mileage could be. EB XLTIve had this truck 4 months. I don't drive a lot and I currently have about 2k miles on the odometer.

I just reset my trip b at about 6500 miles when I got my oil change done. It was showing I think 25.9 and my fuelly all-time average was at 24.8, so about 4% higher than actual on the trip computer for me. Stock pirellis, 4k and fx4.Does anyone have any hard data on how far off the computer mileage and pencil & paper mileage are?
I have stock size rubber on my XLT, see the average fuel economy indication routinely be optimistic by anywhere from .5 liter/100 kms to over 1. I'm generally getting 30 to 35 mpg (Imp), a bit less at times with winter driving.Does anyone have any hard data on how far off the computer mileage and pencil & paper mileage are?
Damn, I need that eco mode lol that’s great mileageSomething is wrong on your Maverick!!! That’s was today a 70mph with 5 adults inside from Tamarac, Fl to Naples Fl. Maverick Ecoboost 2.0 AWD. XLT (not FX4)![]()
It sometimes amazes me how a small engine with "gas mileage" gearing struggles to achieve decent MPG. Lots of things contribute to this, cold weather, not being broken in and winter gas is a huge one. I also fear gearing and possibly increased rolling weight due to tire changes could add to the issue. I'm hoping VESPA the best of luck, I know he's mad as hell, but a summer fuel situation may jump him by 3 to 4 MPG. One of my daily drivers is a 2015 Ram C/V Caravan, Cargo model, 3.6 V6, winter MPG usually around 19 to 20 MPG, but recent warmer weather here in Iowa, and I also suspect that summer fuel is here, now the van has jumped to 24 to 25, best increase noted Thursday, a 437 mile day, showed 26.3. It has done 25 to 27 in good weather for the last 200K. Here's a July screen shot of my "Trailer Towing" rig, 2015 Chevy 3500 Express 12 Passenger one ton van, 40K original miles, 3:42 gears, 80LE automatic with a 6.0 V-8, driving it empty at decent speeds. A trip last fall to Silver Lake Mich sand dunes, trailering my modified XJ there and back, mileage was 14 to 14.5 constantly., Big thirsty engine in a big van. I think sometimes a big engine has advantages. With that said, I'm ordering a Hybrid XLT. I drive over 4500 miles a month in my business, the Caravan has 200K on it, and am glad Ford has made a truck that is SUPPOSED to get around 33 or so combined, maybe 35 on a good day, just hoping it will do it. I buy lots of fuel doing near 60K a year. Also, hoping Ford remedies the overheating converter issue, has to be a rich situation I would think, kinda scary, and disappointing.I think your mileage is spot on especially if most of your driving is in town. We do maybe 85% in town driving and 15 % highway and are seeing very similar numbers as you. Ours are a little better but we do use 93 octane so that might explain it.
Here's a pic of mine I just took this morning. The options you have are very similar to ours.
