The reverse beeping is annoying and embarrassing. My Chevy Bolt does NOT make a similar sound in reverse. Neither did my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid

Of all the time to be embarrassed about, worry about, or even give a second thought, the pedestrian alert sounder should be nowhere to be seen…Federal law on hybrid and electric vehicles built after September 1st 2020.
Honestly doesn't bother me, extra insurance that hopefully someone doesn't walk behind me while I'm backing out.
I believe your local caterpillar distributor has a really good backup beeper!I am curious though... any one diagnose where the sound comes from and if it can be added to an EcoBoost? I'm already going to try swapping the antenna for an Escape style one, might as well add that feature I liked form the Hybrid too![]()
This thread died two years ago, we've figured it out since then.i have a 23 xlt lux there is a mild back up beeping
Yeah same. I would rather have a noise than run someone overFederal law on hybrid and electric vehicles built after September 1st 2020.

My 2022 Chevy Bolt makes no such noise. Just the normal low speed whirring noise similar to the low speed noise the Maverick makes when in drive. So it's NOT a requirement that your hybrid or EV sound like an Amazon van when backing upFederal law on hybrid and electric vehicles built after September 1st 2020.

Newer Hyundais (both EV and hybrid) do, however.Neither did my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid
