24 hybrid noise.

I purchased a 24 hybrid recently that has a strange sort of clunking noise under it when sitting still and turned off. Checked over and under but unable to locate. Sounds almost like something is alive and running around inside of it. Of course its an intermittent noise making it harder to trouble shoot. Any ides?

My late model Corolla would turn on the gas vapor recirculation pump when it sensed gas vapors escaping even after sitting idle in garage for hours. Startled me until I “googled”.

My eco makes all kind of clicking sounds when off. But the other day it was locking and unlocking the doors all on it's own. Then I realized I had the fob in my pocket and when I was rinsing the suds off with the hose it was triggering the auto lock. At first I thought that was impossible so went to the passenger side and duplicated it. Then took the fob into the garage out of range and it quit doing it.

My EB makes random noises when I enter my garage even without my fob. Like a dog wanting to go for a walk!

Was it still within 75 min of having just been turned off?
Long or short drive prior if so?

Hybrid has a couple other functions even the EB doesn't get - and those owners hear it itching to go out for a walk, so better believe it!

Never timed it to see when it starts making noise. Seems to do it more regardless of trip length Its been sitting now for about 4 hours and is quiet. Ill pay more attention to it tomorrow. Whats your thoughts?

What is EB? Im new to this type of vehicle.

EB is abbreviation for Ecoboost - the engine in the ICE version of our Mavericks

My EB chirped/gurgled at me yesterday as I walked in front of it. Key FOB in house. The hood was open at the time - so I think maybe the camera saw me & sent a message to the dash “your fly is open”? Only a good friend will tell you that I think.

Hey....I'll solve it REAL QUICK for you....."It's normal" The noises and clicking are part of the Hybrid system.

Normal noise if within 75 min of turn off.

Potentially normal noise if after (there is an infrequest test of the vapor recovery system, can't recall if during sleep mode or within the 75 min).

As it gets colder chipmunks will for sure take advantage.
