2025 hybrid reverse audible alarm?

Noticed that I don’t always have the audible alarm while the truck is in reverse? Noticed it today while backing out of our driveway 2x and backing out of parking spot at bowling alley tonight. Gas engine running all 3 times. Shut off the heat when dropping the guys off, and the alarm did sound when turning around in buddy’s driveway. Thoughts on if this is normal or something wrong? Gonna check in the morning and make sure hvac is off when I leave for work.

I believe the audible alarm only engages when the ICE isn’t running. It’s a safety feature for when you are on electric in case someone is walking near your vehicle with the thought that it won’t be moving because the engine isn’t running.

They may changed it for the 25s then. My 25 has never had the audible tone with the ICE running. It will even stop dinging if I'm reversing and the ICE kicks on.

Doesn't the Maverick always reverse on battery power? My 23 will shut the motor off when the gear selector goes into Reverse.

Yes, but the ICE can kick on to provide heat for the cabin or to charge the HVB if needed.

I am always in EV when going in reverse. I'm also always above freezing so I've never need the ICE in reverse so never noticed.

I haven't noticed the difference whether the engine is on our not with the audible sound but it makes sense. The sound needs to be there if the pedestrian can't hear the vehicle. In most cases, as long as the battery is charged up enough, the engine won't turn on while backing up.

Mine makes the chime in reverse with the engine running also-

I wish it was possible to change the sound...

I'd go with the flying saucer sounds from the classic video game Astroids!!!

My concern is a reverse back up alarm that is not loud enough. I want people to HEAR me backing up, as in an alarm that is as loud as a garbage truck. KNOW WHAT I MEAN? Who has them?

Sounds like a 25 improvement that makes sense.

The purpose of the sounds is because it could be silent with no ICE. Either direction.
So if ICE is running, why would the sounds be needed!
