Reverse Alert Noise on Hybrid

Has anyone heard anything (no pun intended) about an audible noise when shifted in reverse for the hybrid drive? I had considered a Hyundai Tucson 2022 and it was a standard safety item you couldn't disable. Wondering if that will be the case on this as well?

I couldn't find that in the owners manual...only reverse sensors if so equipped.

The Hybrid F150 does have that noise so if I had to bet I would say the Maverick would have it too

I was told it was an NHTSA requirement that was required to take effect with electric, battery, hybrid vehicles to prevent pedestrian injury while in the electric mode without audible engine noise. Not really a driver enabled option.

Has anyone heard this noise? From the government recommendations it doesn't have to be a specific noise, but should alert pedestrians to the vehicle and direction.

That sounds correct. I believe that’s when Tesla added the farting and the Spamalot style horse noises as options

That is correct, the blind folks crossing the street can't see you so they have to make a noise so you can be heard.

My Toyota Avalon Hybrid made a really quiet noise/music type of sound.
The Lexus ES 300h makes a strange louder noise when backing out of the garage. I haven't heard any other sound.

My Ecoboost does not have it. I miss it from my Escape Hybrid. Kind of odd they would leave it out on the Ecoboost. I really want this feature. I don't care if others find it annoying it's a nice safety feature.

Due to the Hybrids engine not running while in reverse.

My wife asks me where the monkey is. Reference to old metal wide up toy
Friends have asked where is that weird sound coming from, laughed, rolled their eyes, etc.
It's horrible.
