So I’ve decided to keep my normal climate settings NOT on auto. I feel like it gives me better control over the climate.

But I put the remote startup setting to auto because generally when I do this, it’s because the weather outside is more extreme and there might be frozen ice on the windshield etc.

My question is…when I remote start, it should be on AUTO, but I notice the button at bottom of screen is NOT selected or turned on. Maybe it just kind of does auto but doesn’t actually turn the light on near the button? I’m confused.

It just doesn't light up the button until you hit start/turn key.

When I turn the key and start the truck, the auto climate button is not highlighted—even though I have auto climate selected for remote start.

I selected, use last settings or sum such bull hockey.
My climate control is always on auto.
So
That’s what Pepper starts up with.
I shut down with heated seats, steering wheel and mirrors on during this winter cold snap.

It could be that it comes back out of auto when you turn the key, to the last settings you had when driving. Could test this by not using the front windshield vent/defrost when you shut down next time. Then remote start and see if it's blowing at the windshield before you turn the key.

At the end of a drive, I just put the fan and temp on HI and direct the air where I want it to be when I get in - usually floor & panel vents. No indicator lights w/ remote start (normal).

When I get in the truck after a remote start, all I have to do it turn the fan down a bit and twirl the temp dial off of HI (a click or two) w/o looking. Remote starting on HI fan & HI temp seem to provide the fastest warmup.

I have the same issues - never know what is going to be on when remote started even though seat and steering wheel is selected in settings.

I keep saying…now I know why they put the climate controls on the infotainment screen. It’s because you can’t control the climate the way we used to. We can’t just control how hot/cold the air comes out. Instead it’s like your home AC settings. You just set the temp. And the HVAC system does whatever it wants. It’s a bit frustrating. Even when I have auto mode deselected, the climate control STILL changes settings without me knowing about it.

Maybe its a bug in the new software that ford might fix in 2-3 years. Some folks been waiting for the battery fix for lights years now. Rear camera not looking much better.

My new 25 lariat is not working properly with remote start either doesn’t matter if I leave seats and wheel on or off when I remote start they do not come on or stay on. They are always off after remote start and it was negative 8 degrees last week. My 2023 worked fine I’ve gone thru settings a few times will sadly have to take to dealer.

That sucks. If I paid for heated seats I would 100% take it to dealer if it wasn’t starting up on remote start.

Yeah settings in auto. I agree its been no good my 23 would be nice and toasty seats and steering wheel. I’ve moved settings to use what it was left on and it still turns them off so I’m guessing it’s a software glitch.
