First, let me apologize if this has already been discussed. I did use the search feature to browse the forum but was not able to find this exact topic. So forgive me if I overlooked it.

On my ‘22 XLT Mav with Lux package, the key fob has the remote start feature on it. My wife’s ‘23 XLT Mav with Lux package just showed up and her key fob does not have the remote start feature on it. I did not know that was going to be removed from the ‘23’s.

It was separated as a feature for '23, yes. You can get solutions like the Start-X remote starter or Ford's Perimeter Security add-on that allow remote starting utilizing the original key fob via a sequence of lock-unlock button presses.

I love my remote start in the Wisconsin winter. Can't believe they made it a option.

The remote start is now on your smartphone.

If you want to you technically can buy the new fobs with it and add them to the truck. people have done it to other fords.

Also would need to add the transceiver module:
You would need to retrofit an OEM remote transceiver module and use something like Forscan to configure the IPC and BCM that it's there. Probably similar-ish to this procedure for F-150's.

The RTM module itself actually isn't that expensive ($50 MSRP) but I don't know if the connectors/wiring are present on non-factory-equipped vehicles. Edit: It appears to be above the headliner behind the front dome light. Don't know how accessible it is without dropping the headliner.

Most are. Some don't even give the option on key fobs anymore, it's done via your phone. Some like it, I personally don't. If I have one, I want the other too. But yea... everything is becoming an add-on now days.

I have the factory key fob option and I use it 1 to 3 times a month.

But if I didn't have it, I'd just use FordPass. I use FordPass remote start at least twice as often as it is.

Irrelevant to OP, who wants it on the key fob.

The app is handy, though, for remote start at a distance, or for those who chose to not order the key fob remote start; especially in hot weather.
Adding a shortcut to the app on the phone's Home Screen makes it quicker to use.
