When I start my truck either through the key fob or the Ford Pass app, the truck starts but none of the climate control dials are illuminated. I really haven't let the engine run for more than 5 minutes or so, but I'm not really certain the A/C ever came on because of the lights not being illuminated and the cabin is still warm or hot. There does appear to be air flowing from the vents but not a lot. Of course when I insert the key and start it, everything lights up again. It does this in both AUTO and last setting. Considering how hot it is now I would think that remote starting it in AUTO should mean entering a cabin blasting cold air and I don't think I'm getting that. Has anyone else experienced this?

Until you get in and press the start button everything is in a half power mode. If you left the a/c on it will be on but in a low power mode. When you push the start button everything returns to full power.

Get into the settings menu for the remote start and set climate control to auto, it will then attempt to cool/warm your vehicle to 72 degrees as quickly as possible. The settings should then revert to your last used setting when you start the engine to drive off. There's a setting that makes the climate stay on your last settings during remote start. You may have that setting enabled which is probably why it's not as effective as you'd like.

Thank you all for the replies, but I still have a question. While still in remote mode, are the lights on the fan and temperature control knobs off? They do come on after turning the key.

I set up my A/C at wide open throttle because it’s hot when I get off work.
I set my menu to use last setting.
I get full power A/C when started with my Fob.

Thanks for sharing this, I will have to change my settings to mimic this. I use the Ford app to remote start my 2019 Fusion and my 2025 Maverick, I hate that it runs the HVAC at such minimal settings in both cars. I want max heat in the winter to heat the interior/melt snow-ice fast and max cooling to de-oven my car in the summer.

Sadly, I suspect I won't have the option to change this in my Fusion....

For 25MY - your Fordpass should have settings control right on the screen dealing with remote start.
It controls the same thing you can set from the menu.

So either way you have ability. Last used, or auto.
You may have those set to an undesired setting - because frankly even Auto mode usually does better than what you are describing.

I just tooled around in my Ford Pass App and couldn't find anything like that, I might have to Google this and see if someone have a tutorial on this subject.
