No regrets on the XL Hybrid. If I was 4 wheeling or needed to or had a need to pull something over 2k, then there would be. I’m amazed and loving it.

Bought my 2'0 EB off dealer lot 11/19/21. 8000 miles in, loving the truck. Averaging 32 mpg with mix of rural/suburban driving. Own small farm, small truck fine for me-hauling hay, firewood, supplies. Driving more miles than usual, with several mid-distance trips for family get-togethers(weddings,
Etc,) Needed new truck, old Colorado was shot. Long as it lasts as long as I do, couldn't be happier.

Answering your question, no. I have an XL hybrid cp360 and hitch. I am waiting on another (identical). I have no need to argue or justify my choice. The Hybrid XL simply met my needs. Everyone already has the factual info re: mpg, power, price, and warranty. Everything else is pretty much just opinion. Just a mid aged retired veterans thoughts

Very happy with my EB live in a rural area drive mostly highway getting almost 30 MPG about the same as I got with a 1998 Isuzu Hombre with no AC and manual trans.

Ive read thread after thread and as expected, everyone justifies why they purchased what they did. I’m curious if anybody hates their ecoboost or hybrid and wishes they went with the other one and for what reasons.

I’ve been dead set on one or the other one, switching weekly as both have their pros and cons.

Wish there was the 4k towing and AWD option for the hybrid, but don’t have the need to sacrifice the great MPG’s. Have over 7k on my hybrid and about 5k of that has been 65-75 mph interstate travel and averaging 38mpg overall. The couple tanks I’ve had solely around town I flirt with 50.

No mistake in engine choice, didn't even consider the Ecoboost, still don't. To me the hybrid system was the only logical one. I don't need to tow 4000 pound trailers, I don't care much for off roading, never found a need for AWD having never had any meaningful issues with FWD in snow (if I was available in hybrid I might go for it), strongly dislike modern automatic transmissions, and the poor fuel economy of pure gas powered vehicles.

Got another one.

I know with winter fuel and cold weather, mpg will take a hit. Anyone who lives in a cold climate, how are you feeling about your hybrid,? I'm one of those people that cranks my heat and cracks my window to cool down, so I'm guessing the gas engine will be running, non stop? You think I'll start seeing under 30mpg, consistently?

My average summer 45mpg will no doubt take a hit. Its my 1st hybrid, but I'd be surpised to go lower than 30mpg though... I could be wrong.

It gets pretty cold in my area, I have a block heater and will be using it to minimize warm up time.

I forgot that you could rent other peoples cars and found a hybrid maverick on Turo. I’ll see if I have the time this weekend to pick it up and get back on my thoughts. Should be a great way to get a real feel how it would be in day to day driving.

I've had my hybrid for 4 months and have 4000mi on it. Love the mpg and I don't recall ever wanting for power, I'm not even sure I've gotten it near the "100% power" mark. My concerns are 1) recently the engine has started to vibrate when switching from gas to electric that it did not have previously and 2) the regen braking at low speed is borderline dangerous (doesn't really answer your engine question, but is related strictly to hybrid.) I've had to retrain myself on how to brake in stop/go traffic and parking lots. I'm really hoping Ford addresses it.
Hi there. This engine concern doesn't sound like the type of experience we want you to have with your Ford Maverick. Could you please send us a DM with your VIN and dealership information? I'd be happy to look into things on my end.

"Does the hybrid ever feel sluggish when passing at highway speeds?"

I think "Feel" is the operative word here. Because of the different way the hybrid system responds to the throttle, it may "feel" lacking to some, whereas the actual numbers tell a very different story.
Personally I can't imagine spending so much more for fuel to attain such a meager advantage.

How impressive is impressive? Quarter mile time?
14.6@93, fast enough for any road conditions, a little tuning & 13's are doable. I know not fast compared to todays 'pony' cars, but I can remember cars with big blocks that couldn't do that without a lot of work, & those only got 10mpg.
