refueling from a jerry can ?

The other day I was following directions to my sisters ranch, I was lost and running out of fuel. I got there on E and tried adding fuel so I could drive to the gas station 45 kilometers away . What a nightmare trying to add gas with a regular type red plastic gas can. I called the dealer ,they never heard of this problem.. I read my owners manual and was told to look at the jack package ,I would find an attachment for adding gas. Nope the jack has never been used and there is no attachment. The dealer never heard of this attachment ,and had not read the owners manual .
I'm up here in Canada , maybe the attachment isn't needed when adding gas by the liter instead of gallons ( lol ) . My Maverick is a 2023 Lariat Tremor .Eco boost . Any suggestions besides don't get lost in the future ?

They end up in all sorts of places if they get knocked off the jack package for some reason, glovebox or cubbies.

Did your buy your truck new or used?
If your truck is new, it should be inside cab somewhere. Behind the rear seat back, under the rear seat, in the passenger seat pocket, glove compartment, console....
If you bought your truck used it was probably lost by the previous owner or ......?

Erh - don't let you tank get to E.

My 24 Tremor came with the funnel. Get your dealer to order one for free. You shouldn't have to pay for something twice.

Time to get familiar with your manual - at least be aware what is in it, and what your truck has, and doesn't have.

Did you try the button for extra reserve fuel to use that?

Both of my Mavericks (Canadian deliveries, a 23 and a 24) came with the adapter in the glovebox.

All Mavericks are shipped with them, the funnell,auxillary wiring harness. My dealer leaves these items on the seat, so when taking delivery you know what's there and can store them where you want to, not where the prep person thinks is a good place. Then the question, what's this? that I found in the ???.

I almost forgot I had one of these funnel attachments I got with my Maverick. I assume mine is under my rear seat. I haven't seen it for a bit. I have never had to use it yet.
