I use plastic NATO cans from Sceptre. They ride in the cab sometimes. I wouldn't ever put any other can in my cab though.
The Sceptre NATO cans have done 6-week treks inside, never an issue. Spendy (the spout alone costs more than most cans) but there is nothing else like them.
If winter ever ends I will see if they are any good for refilling the Maverick... Will be fun to see how far I can get down the highway with a full tank and 4x 20l in the back. lol
