Did people get letters for the camera recall? I ask because I have not received anything. It does show on my app, it says recall and something about the camera but I never got an official letter. I'm assuming I'm under it cuz my Maverick was built in June of 2024.

I can promise one thing. Assuming there are maybe 30,000 units of 2024 production unsold and gathering dust, somebody at Ford is turning on a skewer above a fire, and the fire is getting hotter by the day.

30,000 units times $30,000 per unit. That's $900 million in unrealized revenue for Ford. I pulled 30,000 units out of the air (kind of). The quarterly results reported 45,000 units of unsold inventory. I'm theorizing that 2/3 of that is unsold numbers. Cut it in half and it's still $450 million.

I have to believe that Ford is burning the midnight oil 24x7 to get that recall closed and those units delivered to customers. And also not earn another $170 million dollar fine.

I kind of feel for those poor souls. I've been in that position myself as an R&D engineer at a Fortune 50 company. Every day you're standing up in front of management to report progress (or not), and that report is going straight to the CEO. It is a guaranteed ulcer.

I too have both recalls. Ford currently is still scrambling find a fix for both. But here's the Kicker. I was denied trading my truck in , as I've had multiple transmission issues that never end . I was told they wouldn't accept my trade because they can't re sell it. Needless to say I had some choice words about the dealership and Fomoco. How silly Ford has become. Months and months with no fix on the horizon for many recalls while most Ford vehicle owners are standing with your, you know what in your hand. I think it may be time to look elsewhere.

I don't rely on my backup camera. To be frank 90% of the time, it's useless from snow, salt, sludge this time of year in Northern Michigan. I rely on my side mirrors and do not have an issue with them. It may be because my last vehicle had a cap for 16 years and I relied and used the side mirrors, so use to using them.

I did enjoy it during the summer if it didn't rain. In that situation the same thing the backup camera is useless.

The Maverick is the first vehicle I've owned long enough with a backup camera to use it regularly, so I've always used mirrors as well. I just find the ones on the Maverick useless for precision parking when backing up, in the configuration I need for normal driving. I wish the side mirrors was a little taller, then I could use them. I park at the top of a sloped driveway, so the drop off is too much without fiddling with mirrors every time to do it. So yes, I can use them, but it's a pain compared to just using the camera.

what is it with Ford and there recalls? Back in Sept. 2024, I got a notice on the rear view camera. Have heard nothing since. Today I got a notice on the battery problems, and it says no parts available? I wonder when they will get there act together?

I've been putting off recalls for a while but finally decided to get them done. I have an appointment this coming Wednesday. I'm dreading it because my Mav has been running well. I hope I don't regret this.
Below is a list of recalls my Mav needs. For those who have had these done, will they be able to get all done in a day?

Reprogram Powertrain Control Module, Under Hood Fire, Turn Signal Outage Detection Failure, Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Illumination Update, and Body Control Module (BCM) Software Update

They should be able to get those knocked out in a day. Whether that means you'll only need to leave your vehicle there for one day...who knows.

Quality has been Job 1 at Ford since the early 1980s. Or so they've told us.

Hope they sorted it out for the 2025s. I couldn't buy a 2024 due to the camera recall. So I got a 2025 due to needing a car. No idea when 24s would come available.

This truck is awesome though. Don't regret my purchase.

Definitely frustrating. Just think of the dealers sitting on inventory. Majority of them paying interest on them as they sit there waiting for a fix and/or parts as well. I feel sorry for consumers wanting to buy them and can't. At the very least we are driving them but have to be aware the back up camera may not be working (use the mirrors).

After dealers the way dealers treated us during COVID (market adjustments, selling people's orders out from under them, "take it or leave it" dealer addons, orderbook tomfoolery), I feel zero sympathy for them losing money for trucks sitting on the lots. Maybe throw some of that "Dealer Markup" money towards that interest. (Excluding fordvideoguy of course).

You could look at it that way. Still dealerships employees follows orders from the owners or managers many good people trying to make a living in service, body shop, parts department and booking. If they go under many communities will feel the backlash. I agree on the owners but it's more than them that are at stake or risk.

My question is this, what if you had issues in 2023 , that posts here were saying is a battery issue, you replaced the battery with an AGM one( paid for out of my pocket) and now Ford recalls all the original batteries? Do I get a free battery now from Ford? Will they give me the money that I paid for the replacement that I bought??

My truck is a ‘22 Lariat, non-lux, (NO SYNCH). Three years have come and gone.
I see the low battery notification occasionally. Even left it for 3 months last summer. NOCO‘d it overnight…..started right up.
If and when Ford issues new batteries, will I be getting one?

Maybe, just maybe and yes I know I'm dreaming on this one lol. We'll all get lucky and the camera fix will be acm hardware related to where they'll have to install a new acm and apim and give us all sync3.
