Our recall went fine. Tech showed up at our house. it is running great, 6k miles. Also, we tried premium gas (costco, less than mid grade elsewhere) and mpg seems to have gone from low to mid 40's to mid to high 40's.
Lots of places been switching to summer blend gas.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the recalls that were supposedly updated to no longer cause trucks to go into limp mode are indeed still causing trucks to go into limp mode. I posted here a few weeks ago about being hesitant to let my dealer do all of the recalls because of all of the trucks having issues after them. Everyone here assured me Ford had fixed the issue with those updates so I went ahead and did them.

Lo and behold a few weeks later it happened to me. Never happened before getting these software recalls done. Now I'm without a truck once again and cannot get to work. Again. If I had any money saved up to get another vehicle after selling this one it would be gone to Carmax next week. I'm done with Ford.

UPDATE: Truck was towed in to the dealer. All tests revealed low voltage on the 12v battery, the same thing I have been fighting with for the last year. It turns out that the latest recall made it to where instead of being able to jump my frequently dead battery, it just bricks the entire truck. The tech told me Ford has to put out yet another update for the update for the recall!

After all this time he finally acknowledged that the Ford OEM battery is just too small for the demand of a hybrid vehicle. He managed to get me the AC Delco AGM battery I've been eyeballing for free and install it. Now time will tell if this finally solves the problem. If it doesn't I likely will pursue lemon law.

Report the incident to NHTSA.
Likely your CV joints. Your dealer is incompetent. Recommend you find another one.
I showed by Ford service manager the thread on this forum that discussed CV joint problems. They said they checked it and there was no problem with the Axel.

What is suspicious is that we had no problem with this until right after we got the truck back from the recall service

For a hybrid I'd expect the battery to not need to be as capable. Maybe Ford went to far with that assumption.

their IT staff needs to be fixed - they can simulate every function on the truck, run simulation etc with every software change yet they either are rushing these updates, not thoroughly testing them, or not testing them much at all believing their little 'fix' isn't going to affect anything else. This is all preventable - they need to get their coders, their testers and their act together - FAST.

a more robust battery , especially when you're buying 10s of thousands of them, would be about another 6 bucks, it's ridiculous how they cut corners on vital components.

I've got 29000+ miles on my lariat 2022 hybrid I got in Feb 2022. All updates done no issues. Dome light did not come on in month 18 so my 12v sees my noco genius 5 about every 4-6 weeks. No further issues. Thinking about a LiFePO4 with seperate BMS 2nd battery for pure sine inverter and wired to power my Noco genius 5 when I lock my truck. Mount battery status monitor in dash cubby.

OP just has a bad battery so, despite all their histrionics, no, recalls aren't "still breaking trucks".

Sure bud... His "bad" battery was so bad that his truck never went into limp mode for over a year yet this "bad" battery just happened to cause his truck to go into limp mode not long after getting the recall work done.

OP, you should have trusted your instincts. 2022 Hybrid here with 8 outstanding recalls with no plans on getting them done any time soon as my truck runs perfectly fine except for the rare power saving mode when I haven't driven in 3+ days.

I would get a second opinion.

My 2023 Hybrid XLT has no real issues but this past first winter had to charge battery once to stop dome light not going on and Ford Pass ap from saying conserving battery. No failure to start ever. Winter do smaller trips.

BUT has THREE recalls Should I do them ????????
Recalls on 2023 XLT Hybrid

24V293 BCM tail lights
23V848 tail lights out
24V140 instrument cluster

Oh I cant be without Mav in summer . Haul kayaks 16 foot plus have roof rack and rear cross bars. Loaner of ANY kind useless. I would be screwed

The dealership determined it was a bad battery that "bricked it" (did it go into limp mode, or was it dead/bricked?). So did this software update go back in time and cause their battery to go bad that they say they've been dealing with for over a year? So bad to the point they've been regularly having to jump it. Not like having a battery discharge that low only causes it to degenerate further, nosiree.

I've had all the software recalls done with absolutely no problems. My local Ford dealer (Capital Ford in Wilmington, NC) actually sent a mobile unit out to my home to install the software updates. Each took only about 15 minute' or so. No muss, no fuss, no being without my truck by having to leave it at the dealership. And after the updated software was installed, I have not experienced a single issue with my Maverick.
