I have the factory auto-dim rear view mirror…does anyone know if it has the 3 pin or the 5 pin connector?
2023 lariat hybrid.
Trying to avoid removing the cover until later.

I have no idea but I think folks that have post before on changing out the stock rear view mirror had to run a power source wire or tap into the wire for the light in the overhead console. Maybe others can chime in that know more details. Good luck

I was unaware of any factory auto-dim rear view mirrors in the Maverick, tell us more.

I think you are right…manual dim.
Guess I’ll just remove the cover.

Please let us know what you see and how you end up hooking it up. I want to do the same thing when I get my Maverick. I also want to replace the driver’s side sun visor with a stock one from the Bronco sport with the homelink built in. so, if anyone has done that I would love to hear how that goes too.

You're better off installing an auto-dimming rear view mirror with the Homelink already built in. It'll safe you a lot of work and hassle trying to add Homelink to the visor.

Many posters buy a homelink mirror for like 20 bucks. I forget the manufacturer I did buy one but never put it on.

Thanks. I’ve seen that too. My thinking thigh is that if the Ford auto dimming mirror without homelink and the ford sunvisor with homelink are both truly plug and play with no splicing into other wires I would probably go to the extra expense to go that route.

I recently added a dimming Homelink mirror, was left over from a 2017 Forester which shows you how universal these mirrors are. I basically patched into dome lights, removed the black cover, removed the roof console and spliced into the plug. I used two wires from the Mav plug, black and purple if I remember right and three wires from the mirror, the ground and power for the Homelink and dimmer. The purple wire is switched and the white wire is constant. The instructions will tell you to use constant for the Homelink but I never wire it that way because I don't need someone breaking into my Mav and opening the garage door, the Mav sits on the driveway. If you google Maverick Homelink mirrors there are a couple of videos showing everything I just explained.

The cheap $20 something mirror you are thinking about is from a Kia, it is no longer made.

That ship has sailed. Hyundai/Kia had severely mispriced mirrors, but they've all been gobbled up.

There is no factory plug for a auto dimming mirror or homelink in the Maverick, it's not optional so there are no connections. If you want to install it you either need to run wires to the fuse box, or tap into existing wiring.

Thanks for confirming for me.

Thought it was Hundai. I did get one. Was a great deal.
