Had my rear seat raised up and was traveling down 2 lane road at 55mph when all of a sudden WHAM. Was so loud startled the heck out of me wife looked back and the seat had come unlatched. Good thing we didn’t have something breakable in the back for it to fall on.

I thought I latched mine after looking behind it when getting truck. Then I kept hearing noise coming from back seat area every time I hit bumps, thought it was things I had in the bed. Never really paid that much attention, just noticed it was unlatched.

Had to push hard right at location of latch to get it clipped back on.
I’ve heard of seat back being contrary sometimes but this was the seat bottom that came crashing down. Good thing I hadn’t gone and just bought groceries with a couple dozen eggs there. That’s were I usually put my groceries in those floor tubs and the eggs get put on top so they don’t get broken under other items. If I had I’d sure be eating scrambled eggs cause that seat bottom came crashing down.

Has been covered in prior threads. Best to raise seat and latch it from the passenger side of truck as per manual. Some have modified latch position with washers or other physical means. Search for all the different solutions

Have to pull manual out and read that. Hope this isn’t going to be a trend. Having to pull out manual to read about doing every little thing that I’d done thousands of times in my F150. Already found out factory spray in bedliner isn’t like aftermarket stuff. I set a full gas can in bed just inside the tailgate on way home stopped at stop sign( was ant stomp on brakes) and gas can slid so hard against front of bed that gas shot out the spout up on back window. I’ve had several F150 with aftermarket spray in bedliner and when I set something in bed it stayed put.

I believe it states right in the owners manual not to drive with the bottom section of the seat raised, probably for this reason.

I’ll have to check that out. I always left my rear seat bottom up in my supercrews so I could use the flat floor. With the maverick I’ve been using the berms under the seat to put things I don’t want rolling around.

Speaking of rear seat, when breaking does anyone else here a loud metal thump come from the back? I imagine it's the latch banging up against the frame. Wondering if this is common or isolated.

I am always hearing noises from the back. Only time it was a loud thump was when the seat bottom came unlatched and crashed down. If I get rid of my Maverick it’ll probably be because of constant noises.
