I'm considering a Maverick for our active family - snowboarding/biking/camping who likes to take few road trips a year. Generally we are city people who commute to and from work in city/parallel park and are looking for a vehicle with more space to lug gear/luggage.

For those who have one, how is the rear seat spacing? If I compare to the large space in my MDX SUV at the foot and how much crap I can fit in and around the feet of my kids in their booster car seats, just wondering how limited we may be with the Maverick.

Also thinking about them as teenagers and is it a comfortable ride in the rear for road trips.

Thanks!

Im 6'1" 175 and sit comfortably In the back row behind the front seat (set at where I drive). My knees brush the seat in front but lots of head space. As for having things around your feet, the maverick could improve your situation. the rear seat flips up and has some storage, and of course you could cover the bed or use tool boxes to get more storage outside of the cab. For buzzing around town, a full size adult is going to be fine in the back but a road trip may be too much. My 10 year old has plenty of space

Thanks for the reply. I forgot about the under seat space. My kids are slowly transitioning out of car seats so hopefully that will make it much more comfortable in the rear.

I have three kids still at home, 16, 18 and 20 years old. My 18 and 20 year old daughters are 5'-9" and pretty petite. My son is medium frame and 6'-2". He rides behind his mom's seat fine. He can ride behind mine for about 30-45 minutes before he complains. I have my seat all the way back.

They can ride in the back seat together for about an hour. After that it's just too cramped. They love my Maverick, so they tolerate it more than they would. I think when the new and coolness wears off, they won't want to ride all three together in the back anymore.

We will mostly use my wife's van for full family travelling more than around town. But it works in a pinch.

I think the Maverick also has some size challenges when it comes to large car seats. The sweet spot for the Maverick back seat for is 1-2 kids, past car seat age but before adult sized.

Thank you for your reply. That is very helpful. Hopefully my kids are coming to this phase in 1-2 years.
