Rear seat bottom/bench, does it lock in the down position?

Mine locks down with effort. But I have a cover on it so my Registered Tail Wagger can go with me, and it ties under the seat so it takes a bit to latch it.

My bottom seat locks in both down n up positions.

My big complaint is is the backrest, trying to unlock. Only one pull to release strap, on the passenger side. Royal PIA to reach it from driver side.

I just went out side and checked mine. There is a little movement (cushion material).
Is there any object, protruding above the top edge?
I see some items, stode..
So... IT is Not fully Seating??

I triple checked everything under the seat to make sure it wasn't interfering!

I also have a seat cover that has the ties/straps that go under to secure it, but even with a lot of effort, the driver side doesn't seem to lock properly

I feel the driverside locking pin probably has snapped off or isn't engaging properly.

Yikes lol the trucks got 300 miles on it 😂 think it's worth going to the dealer for? After removing the bottom seat cover just to be sure of course

Absolutely.
If you do. Please keep us updated.
I'm curious as to whether it's a bad part or just out of adjustment.
Good luck

I'm with Glen Baker. Latch is most likely the issue, adjustment or a bad part. I would definitely try taking off the cover and test it though. Seems the cover straps would be small enough that it would not interfere, but who knows!

I would never leave my rear open during driving, for if I am in an accident, I do not want all the junk under the seat to fly around and hurt me more than I may already get.
