Those capacities match what I have used when draining and filling the PTU and RDU. Maybe a bit less than .8 quart for the PTU...

For a D&R on the PTU & RDU, it's 16 oz. (half quart) For the 8F35, it's 4.5 quarts.

I confirmed proper fill on my truck when it was new, and measured drained fluids as well as refilled fluids, and I've changed all 3 twice now, getting ready for third change at 60K.

Also if anyone is interested here is the fluid specs and oil change procedure for the PTU. I can post the procedure for the rear diff as well if anyone is interested. Just let me know.

I did my PTU and RDU at 32-34k miles with Mobil 1 Synthetic 75w-90 full synthetic gear oil and haven't noticed any difference. The oil drained out of each gearbox looked normal, a little dark but no abnormal particulates. I'm at about 42k miles now. Will report here if the gearboxes explode before my warranty is up. My sacrifice for the good of the community.
