Hi all, I’ve searched the threads and can’t find anything similar to what I’m experiencing. However, sometimes when I make a couple turns it doesn’t matter left or right right before parking I can feel it in my feet. It feels like when a wheel bearing is going bad but when I actually put it in park, I can sit there for five minutes with my foot off of the break, running in park and as soon as I pull the key, the whole vehicle will rock back-and-forth. it’s almost the easiest way to describe It is like a trailer that gets bound up and then when it releases, I’ve had it in the dealership three different times and they either can’t duplicate it or can’t figure it out and I’m coming up on my 36,000 mile warranty point has anybody experienced anything like this at all wheel bearing has been checked it’s good. The the rocking happens in the video as I pull the key out.

Wow, that's really bad for just putting it in park. Mines makes weird click sound after idling long time withing first week of owning it.

Did you show the video to the stealership?

Yes, I showed that video to the dealership. The first video I got was from inside the car and whereas I felt it was obvious they said that that’s what the car is supposed to do. It’s tilting whichever way the vehicle is pointing. And I’m like so obviously y’all don’t understand what I mean so that’s when I got the outside video. And they agree that that’s not right, but they can’t figure out what’s wrong, which I understand if they can’t duplicate the problem. My concern more than anything now is I’m at 35 5000 miles. I assume this would be a powertrain issue just because it’s clearly something wrong but they told me that that it would depend on how close to the 36,000 miles. I report the problem to them if it will be covered or not. I’m like I’ve been here three times. I should be in your system as having said three times this is a problem it should be covered no matter what. That’s why I wondered if anybody else had had a similar problem.

That rocking occurs AFTER you're in PARK???
Seems like a fault in the transmission controller's shutdown sequence, or perhaps a sticky servo.
It would take serious knowledge of the system design & operation to diagnose that.
Good luck!

I would try to get rid of it while you still can. You don't want to deal with something that they cannot fix, unless they're just telling you that to wait for you to be out of warranty and then they magically know what's wrong with it. I like my truck too but if I have to replace the battery every 3-6 months, I'm getting rid of this ford's POS junk.

yes, it’s when I’m in Park, but it will not do it until I shut it off and pull the key. That’s the only time it does it and again it’s not all the time. It’s just really strange.

I called a Ford dealer about 50 miles away this morning. Explained everything they can’t give me in for a week, but he said it sounds more like a powertrain issue and as long as I really went to the other dealer, I should be in the system and they should cover it no matter what. He also said he thinks they can get something figured out. When I told him the dealership I had been taking it to he chuckled like he knows they’re idiots or something.

Hi there! This definitely doesn’t sound like the experience we want you to be having– If you'd like to, go ahead and send a message to us with your VIN and approximate mileage. I’d be happy to look into this for you. Thanks!

Question: Do you use the parking brake?

Definitely looks like a problem, but I’m curious if the rocking goes away if you put the parking brake on before turning the key off as a way to treat the symptoms while you wait for the underlying problem to be fixed
