Unless you also have the heat set. Ford Plugin Hybrids have electric heaters but not the normal hybrids. So it might run the engine to get the vehicle inside up to temperature.
The Maverick Hybrid (not a plug-in hybrid) does indeed have an "Electric Booster Heater" to warm the passenger compartment. It operates when the climate system is set to Max Heat, the ambient temps are low (below 12ºC or 53.6ºF), engine coolant temp is low (below 75ºC or 167ºF), the ICE is running, and there is enough generator capacity to power the heater (HVB not depleted). Once the coolant temp is warm enough to actually provide heat to the cab, the electric booster heater is turned off again.

The Hybrid's ICE starts on cold mornings to more rapidly warm up the various electrical drivetrain components that work better when at "normal" temps, including the HVBattery. That's a big part of the reason hybrid fuel milage drops during cold weather - especially for short trips.

Are you remote starting it in the garage? That is a no-no for me no matter what the weather.
I purchased a remote controlled garage door opener (this one) for $50, so I can open the garage door using Apple's Siri on my phone (or any of the Apple TVs in my house). So when it's hot enough to want to pre-cool the truck, I'll tell Siri to open the garage door, then use the app to remote start the truck. That same device works with Alexa and/or Google Assistant (and a few other home automation systems) as well. Best $50 I've spent in a while. I can open my garage door from a block or two away, and by the time I'm home, it's open. There is also a scheduler in the app, so you can have the garage door automatically close every day at 9 pm (or whatever time you choose).

I gone another one for My son-in-law, and he loves the automation features. He has it scheduled to open about the time the kids leave on the bikes for school, then close it 30 minutes later. It automatically opens again just before they get home from school, and closes 30 minutes later. No more garage door left open by the kids for hours at a time...

I'm more concerned you're remote starting at that warm of a morning.

All jokes aside, remote start is for 0 to -30F.
also for really hot days.. I use it to turn on my AC..

Said like a true northerner lol. I plan to use my remote start when it's 110F outside this summer too and you can't stop me! 🤣
Me too don’t need heat cooling is what we need. Also look on window sticker says remote start is ok w/FordPass on Hybrid
