So, forgive me I'm at work right now otherwise I would look, but when I use the FordPass right now, it kicks on the A/C so I get into a cold truck. This is perfect right now for the summer but when winter rolls around, will I be able to have it kick on the heat instead?

Sure. When you use remote start and your truck is set to call for, heat, that’s what it will do. It will start the gas engine to do this.

It will be set on whatever your last manual setting was, I believe.
Ah okay thanks I wasn't sure. As you can tell I always keep it on the lowest A/C setting lol so I assumed it was always like that.

OP's truck would start the ICE, anyway. It's an ecoboost.

Ah, so would it not save my setting and heat up instead? Guess I'd have to go outside and start the truck myself. Not a huge problem just a minor inconvenience

Before you get out of the truck put the temp on auto and set it to whatever temperature you want. Then when you start with Fordpass it will be on that setting. I do that on days I know it will be hot when I leave work so that I don't have to get in a truck that's been baking in the sun for 10 hours.

ICE as in internal combustion engine, not like "ice cold" as in referring to the A/C.

Huh?

It starts the HVAC on whatever setting you left it on, when you turned it off.

If you look in the user's manual under remote start settings, you can change the remote start settings to set what the climate control does when it starts (last setting or auto). It is located under settings on the steering cluster -> vehicle -> remote start -> climate control.

Has anyone done mods to reduce heat gain in summer?

I've got an atlas blue order and I'm thinking about doing white vinyl wrap on the roof and tonneau cover.

Seems there is some evidence this can reduce the inside car temps by 10deg on hot summer days.

Ceramic window film significantly reduces infrared heat gain. Even the lighter tint ceramic film reduces actual IR heat gain by 2/3. Almost as much actual IR energy rejection of the 5% film.

^This

One of the first settings I changed (To auto) and its been great at gauging what setting to run. In colorado its been 90 degrees during the day and Ill get into a cooled car, and in the morning it'll be 50 and I get in with heated seats and steering wheel.

Apparently that setting is not on the phone app itself ?

Nope just on the steering display because it's just for remote start in general (Ford pass or key fob)
