I believe that the On time can be changed in Forscan. Check other threads to confirm.Mine stayed active while installing led lights then turned off. I was confused and pulled the fuse and rewired the lights. Then found that they do indeed shutoff around 15-20 minutes
FWIW. So I just installed my USB, power point, volt meter and switch yesterday. I have an XL. After the install I thought I would test the 15-20 minute on time. I fould that mine goes off when the key is turned off. I also wired it to turn bed lighting on and off with that switch once I get them. The other 3 items are wired to come on, when power is applied when the truck is on.I'm thinking of using this auto-off-after-x-minutes feature to wire a lit switch to my DIY bedight project.
If I wire the switch illumination to that same Ford-provided power lead in the bed as I'll wire the bed lights to, the switch will be lit up for x number of minutes when I exit the truck to drop the tailgate, right? But it won't stay illuminated (or draw power) after x minutes after turning off the truck.
Is this an OK assumption?
Do you remember the fuse number? Thanks!Mine stayed active while installing led lights then turned off. I was confused and pulled the fuse and rewired the lights. Then found that they do indeed shutoff around 15-20 minutes
