I'm adding what to take with me to the list- proof of insurance, usb cable, and my broadway mirror is all i can think of.

Also- I'm assuming you get two keys, or maybe a switchblade key and a valet key?

Can you get a FB discount if you weren't a FB member at the time of order confirmation?

Wondering if it's worth signing up if the dealer is going to shoot it down.

The dealer should not refuse it because it is a rebate send directly to you from Ford. It cost the dealer nothing to allow you to use it.

Shouldn't matter about time of order, as long as you are a member for the specified time period which I think is 30 or maybe 90 days. The dealership doesn't pay the rebate out of pocket so as long as you meet the criteria why should they care

Take the screenshots of Smart Vincent AND screenshot of codes to use for price protection. They are posted somewhere on this site. The dealer may pretend not to know anything about them. My dealer played that. Having the hardcopies changed their mind. YMMV.

Chapman said this morning that Ford changed the FB rules. So if I was a FB member when I placed my order and applied for the FB rebate at that time, I'm good. (I wasn't and didn't). Otherwise they can't honor the FB rebate AND price protection. So I could get one or the other.

But either way I still had the 4% discount coming to me.

My bare bones XLT should only have a price increase of $80~ so after a $20 Illinois FB membership that is still $400~ in the green.

Edited- seem consistent with what Tim Bartz noted back in December,

My truck is now in production and as my highly anticipated pickup day begins to loom more closely, I'm thinking of the things I need to do on that day to make the pickup and payment process go as smoothly as possible. I'm a big fan of checklists. What would you have on your checklist? What hiccups did you encounter that your could have been better prepared for?

**Updated Checklist**

Before Car Arrives to Dealer
  1. Add car to insurance
  2. Contact dealer for
    1. Request no dealer add-ons. E.g. paint or upholstery protection.
    2. Request no advertising decals be placed on the truck.
    3. Request no front plate bracket
    4. Request all firmware updates be installed (radio and remote start)
    5. Request no wash if their wash isn’t brushless
  3. Financing
    1. Check third party financing options.
    2. Possibly get pre-approved for Ford credit
  4. Sell current vehicle private party or have offer from Carmax/Carvana for negotiation at dealer.
Day of Pickup
  1. Check Vehicle for Damage or Flaws. See Ford Pre-Owned Checklist
    1. Scratches on interior panels
    2. Upholstery for stains
    3. Glass imperfections and optical quality
    4. Fluid leaks
    5. Under chassis for scrapes, esp jacking points
  2. Check vehicle VIN against assigned VIN from Ford
  3. Check Apple Carplay or Android Auto
  4. Maverick specific inspection items
    1. Confirm all chips/hardware is factory installed
    2. Confirm whip antenna is installed
    3. Check sound barriers between front doors and front fenders
    4. Check tailgate for level
  5. Check for accessories
    1. Check for complimentary FITS accessory kit (from parts dept)
    2. Check for 12V flex bed power accessory cable (glove box)
    3. Check for plastic fuel funnel
    4. Check for jack and spare tire
    5. Check for owners manual

In Financing Office
  1. Check purchase price against DORA.
  2. Have Farm Bureau $500 incentive applied
  3. Request Smart Vincent financing terms.
  4. Ask if any additional incentives are available through Smart Vincent
  5. Ask for free oil changes
Great list can you do this on Excel? interested in hiring you if you are able too, for other projects.

Do not tell the sales person or finance person about your last vacation, how many children you have, the last time someone cut you off in your car, what you had for lunch, how much you like your neighbor, or mother in law, etc.

Just listen to what they say, and get out of the dealer as fast as you can.

Read up on the Maverick, so you don’t have to spend an extra 2 hours at the dealer learning about the Maverick. You will know more than the salesperson.

Don’t buy any of there add ons. You can get them cheaper.

You might consider carrying two lists. One complete list and one with bare essentials. I spent months following every problem that appeared on the club website and accumulated a long list of items to check when I took delivery. When I actually went to the dealership to pick up the truck I was so excited I forgot all about my list. Fortunately the vehicle turned out to be fine.

5. Don't install front license plate holder.

(somewhere in this forum, someone requested no dealer stickers and they installed the front plate holder -- with dealer advertising -- using two screws into the bumper cover)
How is crap like this not, by definition, vandalism of personal property? (Assuming it's a custom order not dealer stock.)

Because the dealership takes ownership of the truck on delivery. It sucks, but this is how the dealer system works. My dealer was under no obligation to follow any of my requests.

What if my state requires a front license plate?

I know this is a really old thread but does anyone know what these are for the delivery checklist?
