Ceramic coating is easy to do, it takes about 2 hours to do. There are plenty of videos on Youtube on how to do it. We just bought a 2022 Honda CRV, and I did the ceramic coated. Was very easy, Cost to purchase the ceramic was $200 out of pocket.
I suspect someone could just slap ceramic over what they have and be done, the actual coating is the easy part.

Even on a new vehicle, the correct process is wash, decontaminate, iron removal, spot paint correction, 2-3 Stage correction/polish followed by CC. I just picked up my new black TRX Tuesday from CC. 2 full days of work plus a day+ to cure. That was a ~month old truck

When I receive my white Maverick I likely won’t ceramic cost that one....

Good luck.

This is correct, my Maverick will get the full treatment, Washed, decontaminate, clay bar, no paint correction, ceramic coated. Front window will get ceramic tint too

It also protects against brake dust damage, de-icing agents damage, paint overspray damage, and insect damage. Again it is all in writing from the Ford dealer so that for me was worth it.
Got the same plan from my dealer. Only thing not covered is paint chips. Looking more and more at a shield over the PPF. Haven't decided yet.

I figure for the $1000 I'm dealer covered for everything from tire DMG, windshield cracks, stains and tears in the cloth seats and all paint issues but chips was worth the cost.

Just keep it waxed and don’t waste $. It is only a 20k car afterall.
Even at near $30K for mine, periodic Collenite 845 waxing will do for me, with an occasional deep clean and polish (clay bar followed by 3M Imperial Hand Glaze).
Plus, not having the ceramic coating will likely better facilitate periodic chip repairs vs. ceramic.
I kept one Ford vehicle looking great with that technique for 11 years/260,000 miles.

At some point I should have a carbonized grey 1st edition delivered.

I do not know anything about ceramic coating and wondered if anyone with knowledge or experience could help me out.

Would ceramic coating help with reducing paint chips?

Would it help protect the decals?

Are there brands or types of ceramic coat products that are superior or that I should look for?

Thanks.
Hello, I have a quote for my 2023 XLT for a Ceramic Coat and it was $1300. Too much for me but my truck came with a Clear Bra on the front and about 1/4 of the hood to help with bugs and chips. So far I have zero. Maybe an option

Do it yourself, it's not that hard, there are plenty of You tube videos on how to do it. I did mine and it took me, 5 hours.
