If you mean the call straight up disconnects, generally that has little to do with Android Auto and more to do with your cellular reception. Is this happening in one particular area that might have no/poor reception?

Replace your cable. That is the first trouble shoot. Then make sure software is up to date both devices. Reset your Bluetooth connections, and possibly reset your audio system. Most likely cable or phone, not the trucks audio.

I think Android Auto uses the Bluetooth for phone calls even if your are plugged in via USB. But do the above.

And when in doubt: reboot.

Yep, and if Android Auto disconnects mid-call, even if the cable is unplugged/bumped, the call will continue through the vehicle as it's running through Bluetooth (unless that disconnects as well).

So the call isn't actually dropping - the phone is still connected to the tower and the call. It's not an Android Auto issue here. Either the call is going into "Privacy" mode (where it's only on the phone), or the Bluetooth connection is dropping.

Definitely wouldn't hurt to try a reboot of the phone.

I've had issues with android auto disconnecting phone from car during a call with a cable issue. It seems like it screws up the phone interface. Android auto handles the phone interaction (despite being Bluetooth), and seems to not like bumping back and forth mid call sometimes. I'm betting cable issue is causing this.
