So the other day the car infront of me stopped suddenly and I had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting them, No alert, So since then Ive tried everything I can think of to make an alert pop up and I get nothing. I Have all the setting enabled in the menu but I get nothing. Can some one who has it working give me some info on when it triggers or some kind of test mode or any general info you think would be helpful is appreciated. Thanks
Mine went off one during first week, then never again including the same scenario you described. My lane keep is also not working at all. Is your lane keep still working?

I thought the same thing my lane keep system until I found the on off button at the end of the turn signal switch.

Welp, we will all get a check in a few years when the class actions hit for misleading advertising or failure of a product when people start hitting things.

My BMW and our CVR flashes a HUGE warning on the dash.
Have experienced the warning twice in my wife’s Subaru. Works great. And a friend with abother Subaru was saved from a collision when the car braked faster than he could. I ordered the Maverick in part for its safety features. These concerns don’t sound encouraging.

Does it actually give an alert, or just automatically apply the brakes?
I don’t know about the Mav but a Subaru gives an alert and a moment later applies the brakes. So if you brake immediately upon getting the alert, the car doesn’t brake for you. If collision is imminent, both warning and automatic braking could occur simultaneously.

I had mine go off once.

I was on a road traveling at 50 MPH in the right lane where someone was turning right into a store parking lot.

If they would have just kept moving I would not even have had to slow down. But then they decided to just stop with half of their car still in the lane. I was taking my foot off the accelerator to apply the brake when the warning went off. It was hard not to miss. A bright RED screen and loud warning sound. I was going to stop easily and safely by braking when I saw that the car was stopped but the system was telling me that at the time if I didn't brake I would have collided .

This feature along with the Co-Pilot 360 safety features (Blind Spot, Cross Traffic Alert) are very welcome for me.

I haven't had mine alert yet. But I know in my Volt, it sometimes is a little overly cautious, and it has saved my bacon at least once.

I'll take it.

Sue Ford because a driver caused an accident? Hmm...
Ford doesn't advertise any safety features as self-driving lol. No matter what software safety feature we're talking about, they are all aids, not replacements for all the normal driving safety precautions. Even Tesla's actual self driving is not advertised as true self-driving. You're still liable if the software fails and you smash into a Starbucks because you weren't ready to take over and brake.

Never underestimate the power of a sleezy lawyer or a weak company willing to settle but accept no blame.

Mine went off the first time this past weekend, very similar situation. I was fully watching the guy in front, I just needed to steer to the left 5 degrees to avoid him. But the Collision Warning system alarms and red screen nearly had me jump out of my skin. And the other car occupants.

It actually caused me to second guess myself for a moment making me think it was seeing more to the situation than I did. I didn't flinch and just stayed the course around the ever-so partially blocked lane. At least I know it works.

Don't forget the sleezy people that want to do business with the sleezy lawyer and get the idea for a lawsuit at every little thing.

It'll never happen. It's marketed as an "alert" which they will argue and win with as it being an aid to a driver properly paying attention as said driver has the final decision over all vehicle actions.

hi, I’ve worked for multiple brands and have a solid understanding on how pre collisions work. I’m a technician, I literally fix these BS problems all the time. First of, people need to understand these systems are designed mainly for free ways. When you’re cruising at road speed LIMITS. I have a XL maverick with co pilot and had my pre collision active 3 times of my 3 month ownership. Gotta admit it’s a crappy system that barely works. Don’t trust the typical marketing persuasion that it will save you.. it won’t.. at best it will reduce the collision impact and MAYBE save your life if your lucky. TheFord pre collision system on the maverick is crap because it relies solely on 1 radar system.. when premium cars have over 5 different sensors. At this price point I don’t expect it to work at all, much even trust it with my life. I’m just happy copilot gave me blind spot indicators. That’s the only benefit I see in this package. People need to understand at this price point you cannot expect perfection or even near perfection. Let’s keep the expectations realistic. You should remain focused while driving… atALL times. Don’t rely on a garbage cheap system with your life.
