Not to hijack this thread, but I'm wondering when the DOT is going to mandate that vehicles with a "flat front" above a certain height will be required to have hood mirrors to see in front of the vehicles. Because some of these are just getting ridiculous. Most tractor trailers use hood mirrors at least on the passenger side for this very reason. And many lifted oversized pickups are nearly as high up in the front of the hood now. If they can require backup cameras to avoid running over kids, you have to think there's going to be something in the works for the blind spots on larger vehicles.

Notice the side mirror in the last picture is above the roofline of the Maverick.
Although not ridiculously large in comparison, this shows the Mav is just 1.1" shorter than a 7 passenger 3 row Rivian, which is considered a large SUV.
