I just turned 1000 miles and I can’t beat 21 MPG. I have tried; super unleaded, eco mode, A/C on and off, highway driving, local driving, etc.

After 1k miles I feel like I should be seeing a MPG improvement.

Could it be a manufacturing defect that requires a trip to Ford service.

AWD Ecoboost 5 weeks on the road.
Try to reset your mpg . 1k is your break in time, your milage will go up. On mine having AC on will drop mpg. I have 24k miles and 19 months on my eco boost and average 25-26 mpg. The best part of a eco boost is the turbo and i enjoy using mine.

Have you done ,say a 50 mile highway trip and check mileage right away? We routinely get over 30 mpg with our ecoboost.

2024 Lariat, AWD, 4K towing. 28–29 mpg around my rural town. Running 87 octane wherever I find it cheapest
That is good for 87 octane. With direct injection, that's also a risk if you plan long term ownership. Carbon buildup on intake is an issue on all DI motors.

Try holding the ok button to reset the trip . This happened to me this weekend in my freinds 23 f550. It said 0.2 mpg for the last 4500 miles . I reset it and it started calculating. BtW I got 14.2 pulling an 10000 lbs flat bed on the 100 mile trip. I get 28 average on my 22 4k ecoboost

I just returned from a 2200 mile road trip from Albuquerque, NM to California. Starting mileage was 16,000. Driving on relatively flat roads at 65 mph netted me about 35 mpg. Driving between 65-75 mph dropped mileage to 30mpg. And when I drove faster then 80 mph, I averaged 26-28 mpg. The air conditioning was on the entire trip (it was hot everywhere), 3 adults and a dog in the cab, and I have a bed cover.

I just rolled over 6K on my Ecoboost. She had Terrible Milage for the first 4K. She's breaking in nice now and my Milage this tank has been 24 MPG. I am NOT light on the throttle. I run the AC all the time and Usually on the Interstate She is at 80MPH. It gets better after they get broken in.

When I first got mine - 2.0 eco-boost I had to drive it 300 miles to get home - long story , but I averaged about 22 mpg - I was happy as a clam . I now have 9,600 on it . Around "town" or running around doing errands I now get 27 -28 mpg and on a trip or traveling on the interstate I am getting 35 - 36 mpg . Do not use anything but regular - seriously . Buddy of mine has a Maverick and started running Hi Test in it to increase mileage - he actually had a 5 mpg drop . Just be patient and pretend there is an egg under the gas pedal .

I have a 24 XLT Hybrid. I'm getting around 35 mpg on a daily pool route I work at. That's carrying approximately 400 pounds of chemicals and a Hammerhead pool vacuum attached to my hitch receiver. I also run the A/C at 72 degrees. I'm one happy camper.

1K miles is hardly broken in, the Ecoboost is not a city loving vehicle like the hybrid, when you see the red light quit accelerating, it saves the brakes and gas, drive like there is an egg under the gas pedal, if you tromp on the gas economy goes out the window on a conventional ICE engine.

I see pretty much the same thing from my Ecoboost Maverick. You really have to drive like your going for the MPG world record to get anywhere near 30 MPG. Looking at the active MPG monitoring while driving and it really takes a hit while mildly accelerating through the lower gears. Get into decent boost & high MPG goes out the window.

Maybe to heavy on gas pedal . I get 23-24 mpg city but stay out of turbo territory most of the time . occasionally like to out perform V8 trucks and mileage definitely suffers but enjoy the moment . Low cost Truck outperforms high cost Truck is a hoot to me . especially when I am still getting 20 mpg versus their mpg .

There is no direct correlation between octane and intake valve deposits.

Well, I have close to 24k miles if I'm not mistaking, never seen a 21mph as avg since new. Note I live in a xtremely hot place with 90's as year avg, I almost never hit the highway, and do plenty of short rides, AC is on 79. No I don't drive like a maniac, yes tried eco for like 2+ months and see no difference.

Besides me waiting for a full ev maverick, and or the problems with the Hybrid I would trade mine for another maverick, love my lil orange, but the MPG is a bit disapointing.
