You 2023 owners, maybe all owners, should check their truck bed to see if you too have this problem.

Let me know if you do.

Thanks

ask the dealer if they want to fix that or do a free SIBL

While that is no doubt a paint defect it appears to be in the bed of the truck. If that was my truck that would be scuffed off by cargo in short order or covered with a spray in bed liner. I am using mine as a truck as intended. Bed scuffs and scratches happen when used as intended.

Weld splattered…no doubt.
But did your truck also have it? That’s what I’m trying to find out.

I am thinking they painted over dripped weld material.

Just curious...for those of you who opted to not get the SIB or the DIB, do you care if you bed gets scratched up? I'm not sure I could leave my truck bed all naked like that...
I added a bed mat and tailgate liner that is working just fine for me. I like to use but not abuse mine.

Honestly I thought I would be okay without an SIBL, I mean it hasn’t stopped me from using it as intended and you can definitely tell, but I really do wish I had gotten it right off the bat. Everything scratches the paint in the bed, and down to the steel in places. I definitely plan on getting it done in the near future.

Ford should can inspector #4 who was probably under a afternoon siesta. Totally unacceptable. There is a reason that Ford does not use the slogan, " Quality Is Job 1 " any longer. There has been talk about how Ford has cheapened the underside of the Maverick, but nothing about the metal and paint protection.
