That upright grill position there is a prime location for rock chips, and the sharp edge means impact forces are multiplied. A rock running into a knife blade is going to apply 5x the PSI as a rock running into a flat panel, which means the paint is more likely to chip all the way to the metal. Follow that up with road salt all winter long and yep, corrosion sets in.

GOOD NEWS -- contacted body shop and found Ford will cover under 5 year corrosion warranty, so I can get do when do the door repair...Still want people to be aware and watch for this concern, though...
