I'm no products fanboy. Lord knows I've ragged on Mabett about the poor quality of their side markers.
I have also praised the quality of their flexible soft touch Dash tray.
I consider my Mavericks quality as Fair. It's not super great and it's not terribly poor. Pertty middle of the road.
Remember, the Maverick was a low price point vehicle. Designed to hit the market with a price of $19,995 for the hybrid. With that in mind, I would imagine the contracts were awarded to the vendors with the cheapest prices = cheap quality?
Putting together a vehicle on a moving assembly line, does have its challenges. Along with the employees assembling said vehicle. An old adage was. "🄳You never wanted to buy a vehicle assembled on a Monday.🤮"
Very well put!! This isn't a Mercedes, Lexus, or BMW. I've been very well pleased with my 2022 XLT Hybrid. Unreal fuel economy and I'm just under 30,000 miles.

I pre-ordered a 25 mav lariat. Coming from my last few trucks : 19 ram 1500, 21 ram 1500, 23 ram 1500 Laramie…no issues, high quality vehicles, had each up to 55k (23 has around 22k on it)

that being said, I’m buying the Mav hybrid solely for fuel economy/commuting

I’m a bit nervous about the transaction, I’m selling my ram and will take somewhat of a loss either way of least a few thousand dollars. I keep reading about so many random issues people have with their mavericks. Cv axle, transmission leaks, windshields prone to damage, interior rattling, bed rusting under the factory spray liner, hybrid battery issues….how well made and reliable are these vehicles ? Hybrids only
Nearing 20k miles and no mechanical issues yet. I don't think the CV axles will be an issue unless you plan on doing a lift / level, no issues with the spray in bed liner but I've also got a tonneau cover, no battery issues yet but I drive it daily and AGM swap seems to be a relatively cheap and easy fix for issues. The assembly line process is fairly standard be it a lowly Maverick or top of the line F-150 Raptor, it comes down to material cost, additional features and finish.

You definitely notice where corners were cut with road /wind noise (XLT does not have acoustic windshield that's on the Lariat), cheap hard interior plastics that are prone to scratches, naked engine bay with exposed hose and wire runs and no engine cover, a subpar infotainment system prone to freezes (22-24 Lariat has a better Sync 3, 22-24 XLT did not get, 25 gets Sync4), thin paint that can chip easily and a not actually full size spare. I've had the check engine light come on twice but it was fixed with software updates, no issues since.

It's still a good value proposition, especially the hybrid, just don't expect the finish of a $60k truck for $30k.

Do what I do and have both a ram and a maverick. We use the ram to tow our camper, and the maverick to tow our boat when we camp at a lake. I haven't experienced any of the issues you talk about ....yet. 21,000 miles and 2 years old. My ram is 15 years old and zero issues at 41,000 miles. Hoping to get another 10 years out of the ram. Hope the maverick is as reliable!

That's a lot of money to spend on a Maverick, IMO. In my mind, it's the anti-Ram, as in Maverick is not tough. Drive it with this in mind and you'll be ok. Don't drive it like a Ram.

I’d love to but my 23 1500 Laramie was $69k and I can’t afford to keep that and get another new vehicle, and at this point I just want something better for commuting, hence the mav hybrid

Have a Maverick hybrid '22. No issues but one. Loud noise or POP one time with the radio/speakers. Did a radio reset and so far all is good. I've had all the recalls done. Love my XLT Lux Maverick and now getting a '25 Maverick hybrid XLT Lux.

Build quality is no better or worse than other domestics. IMHO.
Fit and finish below average.

Don't base your opinion of build quality just on what you read here. Usually only those having problems bother to post, only a few post "I've got no problems", but there are many of us. And this or any group are only a small sample of all owners. There have be 300,000 Mavs delivered, but only perhaps 10% belong to any group.

Ah,we have different uses for our vehicles.i tow different toys frequently. Quite the change from the ram to the maverick. I have aftermarket exhaust on my ram and it sounds great with that v8 rumble. The maverick? My wife and I joke it sounds like a sewing machine šŸ˜† .it does tow our 3100 pound boat quite well though!

I'm sure those with headliner problems or interior cabin leaks probably have a different opinion of build quality, fit and finish.
Missing sound deadening material in between the fenders...etc.

After I bought my I was a bit alarmed by some of the reports too. But, as the years went by and I had zero issues and I talkedto other owners that had no issues, I've calmed down. I've looked at my truck when others reported problems and have seen a couple of places that could have been improved (like the HV cable from the battery (but I work with industrial HV)) but they were acceptable. So, I'm pretty happy with my Maverick.

For me, build quality and reliability are related but also separate issues. Build quality is the quality of the materials used and how well these materials were installed. Reliability, on the other hand, refers to how many repairs are made to fix broken parts. For example, BMWs are high build quality but reliability is terrible.
