Haahaa, but, did it make you feel goooood?
Of course!

I'd been mentally processing it as 8 ICE and 7 electric, but on a closer look . . .

Now I'm scratching my head even more. I checked an altitude site, and it claims that I dropped something like 600 feet in elevation (a surprise to me; I would have thought that I'd gained altitude on the route; I guess the western edge of the valley is higher than the eastern).

if this was a much shorter trip, sure; I started fully charged and used it all. But that's something more than a mile and less than two, and I picked up another five while going not much more than a mile on the ICE.

Now, I'm certainly not complaining, but . . .

Similar experience. I live on a mountain. Into town is all downhill and when I park at the grocery store, I get similar mileage. Whoo hoo! Same trip back is all uphill and when I park at home, mileage is more along the 27 - 30ish range. When the trip in is average with the trip home, I end up with something near 40 mph. And I've had similar results driving on flat highway at the coast. Anyway, it's great to see the ultra-high mileage, but that gets averaged in after more driving miles. Still, great overall mileage. Also re: my 2025 XL Hybrid--I see lower mileage with any kind of lead foot/heavy on the pedal driving.

My '23 XLT hybrid was initially calibrated about 4.4% optimistic on MPG reporting, and I corrected it by tweaking the AFE setting (Avg. Fuel Econ). If your trip involves a lot of slight downhill grade, you can easily get really stellar MPG numbers and they're likely true. However, you have to pay it back on the reverse leg of your round trip. Conditions that keep the engine running will really kill your mileage too. The main ones I've seen are short trips on a cold engine, high speeds, sport mode, and defroster or heater demand.

After a reset donchaknow
Actually - what do the EB's do for MPG instant reading when coasting?

Because it seems DocHawk's trip any vehicle would have benefited, and done right, even more!

the solution, of course, is to always plan an Escher route!

Last week my Maverick travelled to the end of the Milky Way galaxy and back on 1/8 tank of gas.
Took bad it took 2,000 tanks of gas for the first 100 miles, otherwise you'd have something.
