First post. Spend the whole week watching and reading about the Mav. Two days ago I learned about The Rattler (beefed up FX4 Mav) and the ST potential to be in the line ups soon. Looks like based on the spy pics that the Rattler would be first to do so.

So, do I order a Mav now and maybe have it by April? Or wait and see if a Rattler gets announced?

I would prefer a Rattler for a few obvious reasons over a FX4 AWD but one that would close the deal for sure would be a total different interior than the three offered. Personally, both the XLT and Lariat interior do little for me but look ok in a few body colors that are not high on my list. Oh, Cbyber Yellow and then HPR are on my short list. Need to see both in person if I’m lucky to before I ordered.

Thoughts on when we might see an announcement of a Rattler and if it would have its own i color way?

It'll prolly be introduced in late 2022 as a 2023 model but won't see it til 2024

Just wait. And then when another version gets announced in a year, wait for that. Then wait for the next year's model. Then wait for the following. Just wait indefinitely.

I remember when the Mk3 Focus was released in North America for the 2012 model year. Then the ST was released for 2013 and Focus owners were trading in thier 1 year old (or less) Focus's for the ST and taking a bath on the payments.

I think there will be some new versions (like Rattlers, STs, Platinum, or Hybrid AWD, etc) in the years ahead...all higher profit versions. Other manufacturers will jump in and Ford will want to add new wiz-bang versions of the Maverick to keep it relevant in the compact truck marketplace.

I normally don't buy 1st MY vehicles, but the Maverick Hybrid intro increased my new car urge. Plus I think there will be MSRP increases for XL thru Lariat trims next year . Too much demand for Ford to ignore profit-wise. Hope I'm wrong for those that can't get a 2022, but we live in a capitalistic society.

And perhaps more/different colors for interiors/exteriors. Seems most manufacturers change colors every year or so. Plus they'll add a blacked-out version since many vehicles get that treatment during their generational life as they age.

order now just to "get in line" (assuming dealer you order doesnt require down payment) and if it doesnt come in when you want cancel...can always build your own truck your way with aftermarket too.... if you like to wrench on stuff... just some thoughts

It's YOUR decision. There has been no official announcement from Ford on a new model yet, it is rumors to this point.

It'll probably be all of $40k for the Rattler.

There was an old story years ago about a guy who never managed to own a car because every time he went to buy one he would hear about how the next year's model was going to have this or that or some design change he really had to have and how it was all going to be better next year. :) I'm ordering mine on Day 1. The way I see it, if it comes in before I die, then I will be a happy camper, if it does not then I guess I won't care. :)

I always wait until at least the second year. Let them iron out the bugs, and get all that late availability stuff over. Then order. I'm ordering a 23.
