Options for mud flaps?

The cavernous space is only on the driver's side. My RokBlokz help but do not prevent intrusion. So I purchased another bed storage cubby and installed it on the driver's side. It definitely helps but the real solution is to make a shield to block off the area. The passenger side has a shield so no concerns there.
There is another MTC member that built a shield and it seems to work just fine.

I live on a dirt/gravel road too and the same thing happens with my recently installed RokBlokz, which replaced the Ford molded flaps. My speed on the road is slow too. Such is life. My reason for ditching the molded flaps was because they can rub the paint off, not so with the RokBlokz.

After much research, I chose the HD Gatorbacks. They are by far the best, IMO. Half-inch thick rubber compared to all the plastic versions. I went with the model with no plate. I felt the ones with the SS plate Ford logo was too much. I am not impressed with the Rokblokz. Very pricey, but I am worth it. I bought them from www.sharptruck.com.

This is my driver side rear wheel facing the tailgate. Mine was built 9/14 Lariat trim. Does your guys wheel well have this cover? Maybe they added this cover to fix the issue..might be a part # to order for this stock cover @Sliphorn @Pastor_Zatx

hmm does that mean a stock mudflap would only cover this in black? leaving yellow open?

Ok i guess the wheel well cover was always like this..nothing new..but those rokblokz mudflaps cover that yellow area perfectly. ( from their install video)

My initial inspection was wrong, my truck has the same part. I did it in the wee hours of the morning with a flashlight. Also, the RokBlokz obscured it, somewhat. So if you want nothing, or very little to get up there, a shield is the way to go. Second best is to install another bed cubby, which is what I did.

I put on our Rockblokz, and fumble fingers me dropped two of the front orange clips into the rocker panel! Anyone else do this? Contacted Rockblokz to see if I can get some. Wish they would, like some other companies do, include at least one extra with the kit!

Mine (basic XL hybrid version) was built Sep 8, one week earlier than yours, a hole there. I don't know if this is one week's difference, or version's difference since you have Lariat.

I’m sorry I know this has probably been discussed already. Does anyone know what all the options are for mud flaps? I do know a few.
1. Ford Factory molded
2. Ford Gatorbacks $$$ no thanks
3. Rockblocks
????
I was wondering if there are other options like Weathertech or Husky yet because I can’t find any? I’m partial to Husky because of how they fit.

Anything like the Ford OEMs will rub your paint. I went with Rokblokz.

They're good, but damn expensive for what they are.

Yes I am in Hawaii and just priced them out and it's closer to $200 with shipping‍
